Early to start to decorate, yes, but time is limited !!

“Why fit in when you were born to stand out?”

Good Morning World... Mon 30th, 5.06, 12.2dg, 31.5ml overnight, and still absolutely persisting down... No gardening for me today, shame. Tomorrow is the 1st October... countdown now at 23.. Ohhhh  Yesterday my feet did not touch the floor until 11.30am !!!  Lazy lazy girl, but was on skype so achieving things. The afternoon was spent crawling around the confined attic bringing out the Christmas decorations... job started with all the garlands and the tree.. will leave the decorating and lights until my return.. probably.. well maybe just some lights  This is the first time I have created a Christmas house since Christmas 2010, and in all honesty I am enjoying it. Music on and dancing away as I put things into place, most importantly smiling. It will be interesting to see the reaction of all the littles that are coming through the house at the moment as trees do not go up and decorate here until almost Christmas eve. Today is Monday and as it is so jolly wet out I have had to rejig my plans. Will sort lesson prep for the tuition and conversation classes for the week.. have a new conversation group starting Tuesday, and another in January, also a meeting with an interested Mother for two more 8 year olds this afternoon. Some say the village is talking about me.. I said I hoped it was only in a positive way. Then the delight of my day today is a Gyne appointment.. you know the annual variety for the smear test. Just love it, really love it. All in all a crowded day and a countdown looming ever so quickly.

Coming at you.... :)

Sunday.. Austria going to the Polls.

“Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant.”

Good Morning World... Sun 29th, 6.15, 12.8dg. Weather out the window high overcast and rain forecast. Yesterday was an expensive day ... the replacement apple plug was 80 euros, and they were a little astonished at the blow out of the wire by the magnetic box... Also finally found a portable wireless box, and now will be free of the unbelievable costs of going through different countries.. just have to buy a rechargeable sim card for each country, rather than having to buy a web n walk stick and card for each country. Result, at a cost, but at least one off. The afternoon was another cooking session... little Christmas shortbreads for the freezer. As today is a Sunday I will spend my time crawling around the attic bringing out all the Christmas decorations and start the process of decorating the house... my time on my return home in December will be limited so will get the house decorated before I leave. Austria goes to the Polls today.. it will be nice to see the end of all the advertising boards, knocks on doors, mail drops and radio time. Otherwise a little sewing and quiet time... miffed that my AB v Puma rugby clash is a ruddy delayed broadcast. Happy Sunday.

Weekend delight

“My tastes are simple: I am easily satisfied with the best.”

Good Morning World... Sat 28th, 7.08, 12.8dg, 1.1ml. The roads are dry and there is only some high broken cloud so the day should be OK. Yesterday I actually lit the fire at 9.30am.. Yes I went to the wood pile and filled the basket and had the fire on all day !!! It was not that it was so cold, just a bit damp and cool, and perhaps I was a bit tired. Good conversation group yesterday, as always a lot of laughter, and my 7 year old for tuition was a happy experience also, last week I had made him cry ...  so this week we went back to our basics and incorporated it into a game. Tick. It was a bit of a revolving door yesterday with the comings and goings. The late afternoon was spent baking to fill the freezer with afternoon snacks for littles, and then I made a massive batch of fruit mince for storage... the kitchen smelt like a distillery as all you could smell was brandy. I make enough every other year to last for a couple of years, just rotating the jars top to bottom and topping up with Brandy on occasion. Ticking the jobs off pre departure. This morning as I cannot go out to do my gardening I am off into Bludenz to the Apple man.. my MacBook computer plug cord burnt out and opened up last night!!! That was a bit of a shock, so need to get a replacement. Yesterday an Email from Linkedln " Thanks for following up on your previous inquiry. Please know that reports of this nature are taken seriously and reviewed. However, due to our Privacy Policy we are unable to release our findings or any actions taken with another member's account." At least they are looking into it, and hopefully the " jamesharris240@gmail.com" will be deleted from their organisation. Tick.. If I can cause this Nigerian scammer problems and get him slowly closed down then I have done something to save others from the filth that this person is. As he continues to contact me through so many different aliases, phone numbers and other means then I continue to report him with hopefully a good end result.
Quiet weekend planned with foot up.. such a good girl!! Happy weekend.

Time for many cocktails.

“Darling, when things go wrong in life, you lift your chin, put on a ravishing smile, mix yourself a little cocktail...”

Good Morning World...Fri 27th, 5.49, 14.1dg, 26.6ml. It has been persisting most of the night and it was just plain soggy out coming back home at 7.30 last night. Yesterday did not go to original plan.. do they ever?? Multiple little things done in town in the morning, and then the afternoon spent unexpectedly with a new enquiry that turned into a two hour translation session. I have the greatest admiration for some of the more experienced women in this village... the lovely young thing that came to me on recommendation from one of my conversation group was 72 and is organising another group of friends to come and improve their English. How wonderful at that age to be learning new skills... they can teach us so much. Yesterday I also bit the bullet and made an appointment with the Doctor.. Yip, the Doctor. What a blinking nightmare that turned out to be. 4pm appt, and in fairness was seen quite promptly, but decisions were removed from my control after that. He ordered x-rays to be done, and said as I do not have a car, I was not allowed to go in to hospital by train, he would order transport.. Oooohh I said no ambulance, No he said, a taxi and they will wait and bring you home. What a shit... the bloody Ambulance boys arrived with a chair that I was belted into in the surgery and they wheeled me out in full view of the town and loaded me into the back of the Ambulance. A bit over the top really. Saw the emergency Doctor, had x-rays and did the normal waiting waiting waiting for result and decision, only to be finally seen and dressed down by a female doctor with the personality of Frankenstein and the manners of a yob. God forbid anyone coming into contact with her at bedside!! Upshot is as the toe, which is broken is now 3 weeks after the accident they will and can not do anything about it. Saga closed. Came home with a very grumpy face on... rude cow. Two gins and some grilled broccoli later I went to bed. Today I will behave as normal, just no high heels. Conversation at 10.00 and tuition at 1.00, and then feet up with a cold compress on the foot. Cocktails served....

Every woman should..

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
How to quit a job, how to break up with a lover, and how to confront a friend without ruining the friendship...

Good Morning World... Thurs 26th, 7.38, 12.8dg, 2.5ml. Hmmmm, weather was not supposed to come in until this afternoon, and it came in overnight. I have all sorts of things outside that I should not have left out. Opps. Day off today for several reasons, not least the weather. After spending the better part of yesterday up and down a ladder with pruners and my wonderful cutter, my toe has called time. And please, no I told you so's.. have had that already this morning. Doctor's appointment this afternoon.  My day spent being Mother in Charge went well all things considered. We did a masterclass in pasta, cooked it and tossed it with slow cooked cherry tomatoes we had done in the day, some torn mozzarella and fresh basil. Not bad, not bad at all. My precious parcel delivered to school happily. Mama home unhappily!! Gardening job ticking on, the end very definitely in sight. Paulii's chain grinding machine sold and dispatched today as money in the bank overnight. As it is inclement out I will spend the morning foot elevated, sort of, and hopefully finishing the Poppet's Birthday dress. Me.... well, speed bumps negotiated and now back on a smoother road, countdown clock now well and truly moving at speed. To all my Linkedin contacts a word of warning, a person calling themselves Fred Jack operating off the email jamesharris240@gmail.com has contacted me with a request.. this is the Nigerian Lowlife who ripped me off. Once again have reported him to authorities, but he continues to pop up with so many different aliases, but a total dipshit always using the same email. I have asked Gmail to block him and remove his account.. do they? do they heck. A brilliant fight but America's Cup not coming home, shame...And so the world continues to turn...

Mary,

I'd like to add you to my professional network on LinkedIn.

- Fred

There is seemingly no end to the efforts these vile humans go to in order to scam innocent people and their money.

This " person", apologies to all the normal, nice and hard working people in our world,  has now contacted me through my Linkedln page. This person or people are the same as the cretins who scammed me for 1800 euros a couple of weeks ago, contacting me through the Willhaben.at site where I have my late husband's disability equipment advertised for sale. They use multiple aliases and multiple telephone numbers but from the contact I have from them they always use the email " jamesharris240@gamil.com"
I have contacted GMail, Yahoo, the local police, the Internet Fraud division of the FBI. Linkedln, posted on twitter, Google and FaceBook. Be aware... these creeps need to see the end of the world... today if possible.

Laughing

From Genesis: "And God promised men that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the earth."

Then He made the earth round...and He laughed and laughed and laughed!

September 24th

“We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will.”

Good Morning World... September 24th. Yes, I do think he created something that will live on. Today is one of those days where you do not really want to participate, but as the world keeps turning and the sun rises every morning so you must get out of bed, best foot forward and start the day. There is nothinggood about the month of September, other than the fact that I can smile because I met him, and we shared so much. Yesterday was a day spent mowing a steep garden section, can't really call it a lawn as it is not one of your manicured varities, and at times, as I was looking like a crab, I wished I had worn some spiked shoes. Note to self for next time. Mowing 90% finished but I ran out of petrol, and there was no container with spare, unlike my garage. Fathers please teach your Daughters!!! Buxus bushes all clipped into nice big balls, and now the next job is to get back onto the hedge cutter and finish the hedge, then my first gardening job all but complete. Hedge cutter back from the Doctor yesterday with all screws back in their rightful place. The man in the shop happily told me "No, it will not run when the housing is so loose ".. I happily told him he was the last one to service it so perhaps all the loose and missing screws were a problem generated by him. Silence.
Today I am Mother in Charge, from 12.30 until tomorrow when I walk the little person to school. Halo in place. In some respects it will be a good diversion, in others not really wanting to be part of it. My little Poppet has given herself a black eye... as you do when you use your cot as a trampoline !!!
"I always knew looking back on the tears would make me laugh, but I never knew looking back on the laughs would make me cry."

Fantastic little gift for littles to make.

Just in case you didn't know....

Sunday, clear and fine, a day to sit.

“But Piglet is so small that he slips into a pocket, where it is very comfortable to feel him when you are not quite sure whether twice seven is twelve or twenty-two.”

Good Morning World... Sun 22nd, 7.11, 6.3dg. Crisp clear morning, even though the outside temps are Brrrrr. Yesterday was a shorts and singlet day while I was wearing my gardening hat.. until my trusty hedge cutter decided to misbehave. I can fix most things but this seems to be fuel feed so I am hoping that a nice pixie will take it to the hedge cutter doctor for me for a speedy fix, We are in a good dry weather pattern and I really want to finish. Spent the afternoon on the chair stitching while I watched Quali from Singapore.. in 31 days I will be in Singapore ...  Today, as it is a Sunday, I am going to be sitting at my sewing machine finishing The Birthday Dress.... Panels finished, now just need to perfect my presentation of the " P " initial that I will stitch on the skirt somewhere, my little signature for my Poppet. This afternoon it is lights out in Singapore for the race.. a procession, yes sadly. On the other hand if Red Bull have the car and the driver that no else seems to be able to beat then so it is, like it or not.. I come under the latter category. Team NZ... time barriers, wind, no wind.. frustrating but it will be done. I know this, the cup will come into New Zealand.
Happy Sunday.

Weekend.

“Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counsellors, and the most patient of teachers.”

Good Morning World... Sat 21st, 5.51, 10.6dg. Yesterday was a dry and cool day... all day, fantastic. Conversation and tuition dispatched happily and two more eight year olds on the books. My diary is looking like a jigsaw puzzle as I am trying to fit in my new gardening job around the weather the rules, the tuition and my impending departure. Darted into Bludenz to do some stationary and book purchasing late in the afternoon... on the return train I was astonished at the attitude of all the young and middle aged males boarding the train who pushed past a Mother trying to load her pushchair with a newborn in it... I helped her load the pram and made a loud comment about the lack of help from so many men ... when we arrived in Schruns one of the young men asked if he could help her off the train... good job. Today I am off early to get 3 hours in on hedges and buxus clipping before the midday quiet... we have two or three sunny days forecast so hopefully I will be able to tick this garden off. I am missing my daily skype with my girls... amazing how used you get to a daily routine, until you don't have it. Mel has been staying with a friend helping out as Mother in Charge for several days, and the Poppet has had two big "sisters"a big girls bath to play in, so she is in seventh heaven. Home in time for the 2pm Quali from Singapore. No predictions from this kid, but I do have a quiet wish.. Happy Saturday, Enjoy

95 days until Christmas... :)

End of the working week..

“Rivers know this: there is no hurry. We shall get there some day.”

Good Morning World... Fri 20th, 6.16, 6.8dg, 3.3ml. Yesterday the day started very soggy, but by lunch time we had the sunshine, you don't realise how much you have missed it until it comes back after such a long period of rain... The afternoon was spent as a gardener..paid of course, so was on the end of my trusty hedge cutter yesterday putting someone else's hedges to rights. The best part of working for someone else is you get a gin at the end of it..
Today my feet will hardly touch the ground. Conversation at 10 then tuition at 1.00, then I am Fairy Godmother in charge overnight. Heavens I am such a nice friend. Tomorrow I have limited time to work as the Gemeinde request that all noise is stopped by 12.00, but I am thinking I will carry on regardless if it is sunny. Sunday of course is out all together.  Our weather pattern is all over the shop so must make hay while the sun shines. Nail biting stuff for Team New Zealand..... F1 in Singapore ...this is a busy few days coming up. Shoes reasonably successful yesterday, on the flat but nail looks disgusting. Countdown moving on.. Happy Friday

Nice carrots!!

“Isn't it nice to think that tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet?”

Good Morning World... Thurs 19th, 5.57, 11.8dg, 22.9ml. Left in my hands anything could happen tomorrow !!! Lex, I went to bed last night and the roads were very definitely squidgy, splashy and sodden, listening this morning, even more so. Yesterday I found a pair of shoes with a square toe, and soft enough to wear, as I had to take the train to Bludenz and it was too cold for nothing on my feet. Progress!! Had a huge morning in preparing many little lessons, so have that and some conversation lesson work under my belt. Am up to the finishing touches on the front panel.. rose buds and french knots and then it is construction time. Had an enquiry last night from the Willhaben website about my Vespa... am now so terrified about anything to do with trusting this to be the genuine thing, I have butterflies... and no I will not pay anything for anything to someone !!! My biggest dilemma now is how do I control the test drive... they might drive off with it. I suppose I will have to sit on the back. Jeez, if only the bad in our society realised the impact they have on those that try to live nicely. Today I will suit and boot, hopefully the boot bit, and go out to look at the gardening job that I want to do before I depart. Other than that a quiet day in the Autumn weather as it is all rather damp here. Happy Thursday. Ma and Pa carrot are courtesy of a friend.. Smile of the day !!thanks

Nudge, nudge

Wednesday... cool out

“On Wednesday, when the sky is blue,
and I have nothing else to do,
I sometimes wonder if it's true
That who is what and what is who."

Good Morning World... Wed 18th, 5.29, 8.5dg, 5.5ml. Quite cool.. really cool and a sinking barometer. Yesterday I could walk.. in a fashion with a flattish foot but still no shoes will fit... believe me you look kind of stupid when there is snow on the tops, a cold wind and spitty rain walking up to the recycler in open toe birkenstocks!! And then you have to explain to everyone who stops to talk... A picture tells a thousand words.
Yesterday I spent several hours placing advertisements for all of Paulii's "things" in a second outlet, just really would like some honest action. Have picked up a gardening job to add to my list of to do's, so my coffers are slowly filling, and am also looking to clear out the garage so I can store a car at 70 euros a month... it all helps. The next three days are head down bottom up preparing English as my littles need the next phase to keep moving forward.
The snow is here again, had disappeared a couple of days ago but back Mon night Tuesday morning, and looking at the temp and rain I imagine more on top of yesterdays fall. Time to juggle the coat and hat rack from summer to winter. No stitching yesterday, busy hands with other things. No golf training last night.. sad face, but when you can't put shoes on you can't go. Today is more of yesterday and my countdown is moving rapidly... 34 days

So cute for the Christmas table....

Cutie bum...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
what she can and can't accomplish in a day...
a month...and a year...”

Good Morning World ... Tues 17th, 5.48, 8.4dg, 15.9ml. I went to bed last night and the road sounded sloshy and squidgy and this morning the road still sounds sloshy and squidgy. Too dark for a look at the sky but am not holding my breath at that temperature... snow was supposed to be incoming on the tops today... daylight will tell. I totally agree every woman should know about what she can accomplish... I blame my Father and Paulii for showing me how to do so much and probably my Mother also as her standards were always so high... oh well, experience is a great teacher. Yesterday I was in bottom firmly parked on recliner mode, stitching, unpicking and stitching. The weather was so miz I lit the fire at 2 o'clock, so this morning the house is very cozy. Never got to the hospital for a session with the x-ray as I was left forgotten...  but am managing to walk now which is fab, but have no shoes that fit, so it is open toed Birkenstocks.. not a good look or feel in all this rain. House bound is fine.. Picked up an adult English tuition yesterday... 55 yr old hotelier, so am setting up an adult programme that will suit his needs. The Poppet has pig tails  For me.. Busy hands are good hands. Happy Tuesday.

A woman should have...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE .....
a set of screwdrivers, a cordless drill, and a black
lace bra...

Good Morning World... Mon 16th, 6.55, 12.9dg, 2.3ml. New week, new outlook. First job is to get driven to the hospital so someone can look at this pathetic appendage called a big toe. The rainbow effect has not kicked in yet still just the colour of a bad thunderstorm. From today I have decided to walk at snails pace, work at snails pace and think at snails pace. Please forgive me if in future I seem a little slow..... Weather week is not a good outlook... one thing I cannot do sadly is participate in golf or indeed play down at the driving range... with not being able to put a shoe of any variety on will have to use a Paulii sock with the toes cut out. Just do not, under any circumstances, do bare feet !!! The snow has all but gone from the Hoch Joch, but the temps are not exciting... lit the fire last night... yip, I actually burnt some firewood.. not a lot, just lit it, fed it twice and let it make its own arrangements. Nice back ground heat. I have a few days to prepare for the first littles English tuition, and this week he will be without his Mama so it will be an interesting hour. Smocking progressing well, material for the bodice washed and ready to cut out, then it will be a pleasure to sew it all together in my new sewing room. Txt messages still coming in from the lowlife, every message with a different phone name, but the same email address... moron. I have reported to as many as I can, now just waiting for all the requested blocks to take place. Sent the photos to the internet crime unit connected to the FBI so hopefully they will disappear into another world. Probably not, but trying to do my bit. Happy Monday... it is very cool and grey here. Perhaps the boys tool box I have is part of my problem!!!

Day of Rest

“Just when you think it can't get any worse, it can. And just when you think it can't get any better, it can.”

Good Morning World... Sun 15th, 6.37, 13.4dg, 2.2ml rain. Not a clear sky as I peer out in the darkness but ridge lines visible so weather dry and overcast... weather week coming not so impressive, but it is Autumn. Yesterday was a mixed bag, made special at the start with the timber board I dropped on my toe... first time in years I have had to take pain killers as last night was impossible. This morning a little better, but not massively, and the purple imprint of the exact width of the board you couldn't draw any better with a pen if you tried. Marvellous excuse to have a feets up day and as it is Sunday perfect timing. Recorded the All Blacks yesterday as went out for a day with girls, so watched it in the evening... seemingly a touch of controversy in the game which always seems to be the way when the AB's play the Springboks or the Wallabies... seems to all come down to the interpretation from the Ref and even with TMO still problems. Wow and then Team New Zealand in the near capsize with the strong winds... the boys certainly had a little divine intervention on that one!! So today... one of nothing, in the chair with feet elevated and smocking. Last night I said I would be happy if the world came to an end.. today it is OK if it just carries on for a while longer. Happy Sunday.

This is how the thieves use the money they scam from you

Festive countdown clock running.

“I don’t feel very much like Pooh today," said Pooh.
"There there," said Piglet. "I’ll bring you tea and honey until you do.”

Good Morning World... Sat 14th, 7.25, 10.dg 1.8ml rain. And Cold... bumped the heating up a smidgen yesterday instead of lighting the fire... there were chimney pots puffing everywhere yesterday so am thinking darn.. going to have to do it, will bring some of my precious wood inside in a basket today and light a fire. I had a text msg on my phone this morning when I woke... it was from the same loser that sent me one last Sunday but this time he has sent it from a visible number so just popped a quick message back to him... plus my harassment over the emails continues.. I have even managed to shock myself and probably my daughter at the content of them. Was going to have an easy morning but have to get up and do, as the mighty All Blacks are taking it to the Springboks at Eden Park live on TV at 9am this morning... have be sitting in the crowd to watch them deliver this morning... prediction, not so sure about a walk over but should be a tough game. Money on my boys, sorry to all my friends in SA. Sort of  Nice touch of retail therapy yesterday for the sweet and uncomplicated soul in my life... Thanks for the comments on the shoes versus boots, am going to go with the little shoes... Poppet and Moochie in the main street of Taihape... watch this space. Weekend Delight all round.

I just love the Squeaky Shoes for littles... they have an unbelievable range...

103...

Friday the 13th.. lucky for some..

“Life’s disappointments are harder to take when you don’t know any swear words.”

Good Morning World... Fri 13th, how appropriate. 5.26, 9.1dg, 22.2ml rain. Snow has fallen up on the tops around us over the last two nights, summer is very definitely over. It has taken me several days to get my breath back since my naivety and stupidity allowed me to fall prey to the lowlife that took me for more money than I could afford. Trust in others at an all time low, trust in my own judgment lower than a zero. I know virtually every swear word there is to know and still life's disappointment in those that did this, and in myself, is proving to be an enormous mountain for me to climb. On a bright note, bless my student who passed her English re-sit... how wonderful to get such an excited text from her Monday night. School term started back and so English tuition for littles back in the diary from next Friday. Air bnb is providing bookings and the house is going to be bulging at the seams from 22nd Dec through to 14th Jan then again Feb- March. Had my local handyman here last night to discuss a wooden sign for the front garden so almost complete. My countdown is now at 38 days... Roadside hedge finished to please the Gemeinde for the winter, heating now on, and adjusted to please my brother in my absence, back panel finished on the Poppet's Birthday dress and the front nearing completion... have done a lot of work on it since Monday as I have needed to absorb myself with the sweet and innocent rather than dwell on the dark and ugly. So life limps on and am struggling to smile. It will improve. Happy Friday where ever you are.

Naive or just stupid ? Red flag this

This man or someone calling himself this,

It was sent through Paypal. I received this answer on all the correct letter heads...

I then had a series of emails from this mongrel James Harris eventually requesting me to send 1772.00 euros through Western Union to the shipper as nothing could proceed until the shipper had the details and money, at which time PayPal would release the asking price plus the extra costs for shipping.

Seems authentic enough doesn't it???
He then sent me this mail...

Hi Friend,

I have just receive an alert from PayPal Customer Care with the confirmation email that the payment has been made,a total of €6,280.00 EUR was sent,€4,500.00 EUR for the wheelchair Purchased and the extra €1,700.00 EUR for the shipping charges and am sure you notice that, the €80.00 EUR is for the western union charges,so make sure you send the money to the address below via western union.

Name : Sandra Gail Thompson
Address: 9501 S King Dr,
City: Jacksonville
State: AR.
Zip code: 72076
United State

With the issue of my details, transferring the name of ownership and signing of all paperwork will be done by the pick up agent so you don't have to worry about that.My shipper would be coming around to your area to have the wheelchair picked up once you have sent the shipping charges fee to them,as i need you to let me know what time you want them to come for the pick up . I advises you to check your Inbox or your Junk/Spam mail in case you did not get the confirmation email from PayPal yet.

I will be waiting to hear from you once the money has been sent to my shipper.

Thanks for the business

I had no alarm bells ringing.. stupid, yes, I was so excited at the thought of selling some of Paulii's equipment that I have been storing and really want to get rid of the added bonus being that it would bring me some much needed cash. Instead I have sent the requested shipping amount.
Worse still PayPal Austria are closed for business after 6pm, and Western Union are having an unforseen emergency so I can talk to nobody about this.
