#Choices

I'm not a complete idiot, some parts are missing!
Good Morning to Monday...30th, 5.43, 10dg, 48.8ml rain yesterday, it just persisted all day and has left a dusting of snow on the tops... End of June and we have a snow line!! Forecasting today some clouds, some sun and no rain. I am pleased I had made some rain hats for the new flowering white hydrangeas I has planted in the two terrasse tubs.. large blooms, especially white, do not like rain very much, so it shows I can still think properly at times. Yesterday was a flurry of calls messages and concern, all very much appreciated, but I am fine. I spent the day doing more ladylike chores, and very definitely nothing that could get me into any hanging upside down positions. My leg is now starting to show it's true colours, it is going to look fab under a dress, so I suppose it is back to trousers until it becomes skin colour again. I think as bad as the pain from the fall all over the body, is the whiplash, that has been interesting. Moving on, and No Mr N... I will not do some baking.. whatever for??? Today is Monday and it is a clear day on my appointment diary. The world is my oyster. As the weatherman tells me it will be a dry day I think a bicycle trip to Vandans to have a look at the garden centre. I need a replacement red acer, the combination of a mole last year, and a vicious late frost this year have taken it's toll on a prominent low growing red acer in a focal position in the garden. Quandry... Vandans by bicycle or Dehner in Hohenems by train and bus. The Dehner has a much larger and cheaper selection. Hmmm, and it would seriously keep me out of trouble as my leg would be elevated for the duration of the rail journey, and I can smock !! Gosh multi tasking. Decision made. Happy Monday for the last day in June. Now that is a month that has literally disappeared at high speed. 20 days on countdown.

#Stupidity HasIt'sPrice

The ‘L’ in my luck has been replaced with an ‘F’.
Good Morning to Sunday...29th, 5.13, 16.0dg, 3.3ml overnight, forecasting rain then more rain, with a thundery heavy rain warning from Uniqa on my mobile for this afternoon. Fab as I had designated this as an inside the house day. If I was a pussy cat, then yesterday I used up the last of my nine lives. A small accident with the ladder has confirmed to me I will no longer do certain things. Silly thing was, I knew it was not stable so did not go all the way up, but halfway was sufficient to cause enough damage, and to add insult to my already grumpy face injury, it is my right leg from the knee to the ankle that took all the impact and damage. The one that is still trying to recover and get back to normal after the knee op. So yes my "L" has definitely changed to an "F' . I did not even finish the bloody hedge... rage. And FYI... very very blue air. German or English I think the words are the same.
The rest of yesterday was spent alternating between good nursing practises and good homeopathic practises. Thank goodness I still have a small amount of the very brilliant Anti-flamme and that seems to be minimising the re-colouring of my leg at the moment, although eventually it will change... the shape of the lower leg looks like a football.. not the round variety the oval sort, sitting out proudly down the length of my shin. So for today it is Sunday so that means a quiet day anyway... Yay... quiet jobs will see the windows done inside and out and then a little silver buffing, as that is a good job sitting with leg in stretch out elevated position. Then I will sit and do some smocking on the Poppets dress. Now I will be forced to stop and sit. I could say something, but I will not. I read somewhere that alcohol dilates the blood vessels, that may be a good way to force the bruising out....Happy Sunday.

#BestPackages

If good things come in small packages, then more good things can come in large packages.
Good Morning to Saturday...28th, 5.27, 14.8dg, 6.2ml overnight rain, with a wobbly grey sky. Forecasting fine morning with the day deteriorating to rain and tomorrow will be a stand clear of massive puddles sort of day.
Yesterday was a totally cruise mode sort of day. Friday conversation girls in minus two in hospital and rehab and another going next week, and my afternoon little cancelled as his mother, the teacher, had her junior class up walking in the mountains... end of school year here next Friday so all schools in wind down and just keeping the children occupied with outdoor fun activities. I spent the afternoon lying quietly in the sun in melt down mode and then decided to do the tubs as my plan for Sunday was not going to happen by virtue of the terrible weather forecast for the weekend.
Today I am hoping to go and finish my garden hedge job... I really would like to tick it off, but have a sinking feeling that the weather Gods may have other ideas. If all else fails then it is window time. The pollen has stopped so now is the time to get all the windows done and then onto the dress!! That is the weekend sorted. Took delivery of some fab packages yesterday, you have to love the internet.   In all honesty some of my best packages are these two little faces

#TGIF

Good Morning to TGIF...27th, 5.25, 13.2dg forecasting a fine clear day with late afternoon showers, although the sky tells another story. Yesterday dawned beautiful but jolly cool, and I was on my hedge cutter at 8am, on the very shady side of town in shorts and goosebumps!! By the time the sun negotiated its way around the mountain tops I was down one layer anyway and the day got hotter and hotter. Big big morning, mandatory break for lunch and then back into it until my arms would no longer swing with any precision. On my bike heading home at 15.30, and job not finished, so if Saturday is weather worthy then job on. It is amazing the people you see and those that come to see you when you are on a ladder !!! Took my trusty bike with shopping trolley down to the Lidl for a buy up of and Austrian Gruner Veltliner, I have discovered a variety they sell that seems to suit me... quite a surprise there!! Was going to start the tubs exchanging but my energy tanks were empty, another day. Had thought to do it Sunday but they are forecasting V heavy rain for the day so it will be an embroidery day instead... Poppet's 2nd Birthday dress is no where near finished. Today is a day for others, Friday conversation girls at 10 and then an incoming little at 13.30. It will be nice to have a day sitting quietly off the ladder. Without a word of a lie... yesterday's decision to finish at 15.30 was showing incredible maturity, not that I poured at that time... I did wait until 18.00, and did it taste good!!! Happy Friday.

#MuffinTops #GetAMirror

Good Morning to Thursday...26th, 5.41, 10.8dg, 1.4ml overnight, forecasting a bright shiny scrumbly day.. perfect for job in hand. Yesterday dawned cool but promising, dressed accordingly for the weather and a trip to Bludenz. By the time I was walking back to the house from the train at 11.30 there was a cold gale ripping down the road and it was spitting on me. The big collapse....Welcome to Summery Schruns. At the moment everyday seems to be a four seasons day. Shot off on my bicycle with the trailer after lunch, when the weather had calmed down, to get a couple of bags of potting mix for the new hydrangeas I bought for the terrasse tubs, 140 litres of potting mix on my little trailer was hard pedalling... the re-pot will be a job for the quiet Sunday as long as the weather allows me the time to transfer the plants from tubs to garden and the new ones into tubs. Incoming Wednesday afternoon girls and amongst the many and varied things we talked about, we discussed undergarments, the good and otherwise... appropriate pic for today following on from that conversation and also the sights I saw in town, especially now with so many young people are moving around as the schools are counting down to end of year. Sadly that problem is not the sole reserve of the young. Perhaps the mirror manufacturers should drop the price of full length mirrors so that every female has one in her place of residence. Just a thought!! Afterwards we spent a happy hour or so with wind down at Josefsplatz... too cold and unpleasant to be able to sit outside, which was a shame. Today is a feet on the ground early and full gas... I am off to cut a series of hedges at the other end of town, and I would really like to knock this out today and finish it. If there is time then I have to trim all her buxus back into shape. All in the name of earning grocery money, but at least it is outside in the sunshine. Requests have started to come in for accommodation for the winter season already.. now that is being organised!!! Countdown clock picking up speed.

#CaringPeople

Time is relative... The mind makes it slow, the heart makes it fast, our friends make it worth while, and words... make it timeless.
Good Morning to Wednesday...25th, 5.21, 10.7dg, forecasting a clear sunny delight. with a possible light shower early this evening. 10.7dg is quite fresh, the sky is clear but there is a dew on the glass roof over the terrasse. Summer is just not ready to be here yet. Yesterday was a day assigned to the bin. In fairness to those involved in my day yesterday, I was surrounded by the love and care of wonderful people, and when you live so far from home it makes a massive difference. I started with a return visit to the bank, in order to, in my words to my daughter, question, then plead and if that didn't work, wring my hands and then when all that failed throw a complete and total hissy fit. FYI, none of it worked... in fact I do not think I have ever been in a situation quite like it, even the Bank Manager was saying shit shit shit !!! I decided to withdraw with a little dignity and went to Josefsplatz for a restoring glass of bubbles.. where I was seen. It is always the way, but it was 11.30!! Home for lunch and then my brilliant Wednesday girls arrived complete with gloves and aprons in the spitty cool weather, to attack the wood bundles with me... Bless them. bundles cut open and wood stacked in true orderly fashion in preparation for the cut and split road show. Exsisting wood piles re-organised in readiness for the new wood and all of that achieved in a quarter of the time it would have taken me to do it. Then three sacks of hedge clippings were loaded into the back of the car and we did a run to the recyclinghof... This is a beaming face .  Late afternoon I had a visit from the one that spied me at Josefsplatz when I had the bubbles on the bench, just checking that I was OK... she had said to her husband that she could not settle until she had come around to make sure that all was in order. Even though the day was assigned to the bin for various reasons, I was well and truly surrounded by wonderful people. My new Tuesday evening conversation group went well and we decided that we will leave it as an evening meeting. Perfect. Today is Wednesday, a free and clear morning and then my Wednesday girls incoming for some English conversation. Tomorrow is forecast for a sunny day so I am off to do my hedge cutting at another garden. When that is finished then I can breathe a little sigh of relief. Next week is July...

#FairyDustNeeded

Good Morning to Tuesday...24th, 6.05, 14.0dg, 11.4ml rain overnight, forecasting a showery grey uninspiring sort of day. My weather station had a battery melt down yesterday afternoon just as the first torrential hit so the rainfall is not correct, and anyway looking out the bedroom window, the day suits my mood... grey and very uninspiring. I am struggling to understand the working of certain things... you have something, yours, in your name, owned by you and no-one else, an then find you are not allowed to get your hands on it for three years after you have given consent to cancel. What is that all about? Yesterday was a test of many things for me, and not one of them in a positive light, very grey and uninspiring, and worse still it creates a knock on effect that does not please me. That was yesterday. Today is Tuesday, early morning physio call... the last, I am stopping my visits to her as she is about as useful as tits on a bull. Weather permitting today I am going to have some help from my lovely Wednesday girls to unbundle and stack the lengths of wood in preparation for my firewood circus... still hopeful my lovely next door neighbour will remember his offer and do the cutting with his big wood saw as it would be job over in no time... fingers crossed. This evening is the first trial of an evening conversation group... I need the wine fairy to sprinkle her magic over me, but with work in hand on the wood and then an incoming conversation group I will have to wait until 19.00 for some little fairy dust. Happy Tuesday, hopefully.

#PerfectSunday

If the facts don't fit the theory, change the facts.
Good Morning to Monday...23rd, 5.00, 14.8dg, 3.7ml rain overnight, forecasting sunny morning with showery afternoon. Yesterday was a day for sun lounging which suited my body perfectly. To be honest my feet did not really hit the floor until extremely late after a long skype call. Lunch organised, TV tuned to F1 from Spielberg, speaker outside so I can listen to build up in the sun... perfect. Inside to watch the start, then back out on the lounger to listen to the race. They call that multi tasking !! Lazy Sunday ‪#‎Brilliant‬. I did have a small whoopsie with a new purchase yesterday... had bought a beautiful new lipstick, the perfect shade of pink for the new dress I am taking to New Zealand. Thought i would try it as I am not a great fan of the paint on variety of lip gloss, they can be so gloopy... in the bathroom, open the colour end of the set and think to myself, ohh a brush not the normal sponge wand, don't think I like that, carry on. Gosh it is quite smelly, start painting the colour onto my lips... perfect pink well impressed, it is starting to sting and it smells like nail polish... I stop, get my glasses... fact of age... it is nail polish. :0 Ummm standing there with a beautiful set of pink lips in nail polish perfect. Quandry... how to get it off, eyemake remover doesn't do it, oil doesn't do it, soap doesn't do it, I draw the line at acetone so just scrub and scrub and scrub my perfect pink pouty lips, 20 mins sorted. I honestly bought the new L'oreal duo as a lipstick. Note to self, take your glasses shopping so you can read labels. Today is Monday, conversation girls move to tomorrow evening, possibly with a new addition, so my day is free until 15.30 for littles tuition. I just may attempt a little more on the hedges. Collective groan but it has to be done. Next job is to haul all of Paulii's model railway boxes out of the attic, that I am prevaricating about, only because of where they are stored and the amount of moving and sorting to get them out, all on my knees. I really am prevaricating over this because of my knee.

#MyPoorGuardianAngel

You’re never too old to learn something stupid, conversely you are never too old to learn.
Good Morning to Sunday...22nd, 6.18, 12.3dg forecasting a brilliant stunner all day. Yesterday was the summer solstice... it passed in a blur of ladder ascent and descent, and swinging the hedge cutter at all angles mostly at arms length. My only useful comment is Thank God it is Sunday. I did learn something quite important yesterday... I have seriously lost my bottle for precarious ladder work, especially with no one to hold it. Consequently the hedge between the neighbour and me still has a very fluffy top, I am too scared to perch atop the ladder on unstable stones.. is it age or fear of damage ?.. I think fear of damage as I cannot afford to be damaged at the mo. I also learnt yesterday that I am so over all the bloody hedge cutting, really over it. Unfortunately yesterday I missed the mighty AB's thrash the English, ad they did it well, 36-13, but did get F1GP quali from Spielberg on catch up... Ohhh Vettel and Hamilton... what a shame..  ... wow Ricciardo, well done you. I will be front row grandstand in my living room to watch this. Next year if it returns to Austria I think I will treat myself to tickets !!! I have always said I wanted to experience a live F1 before I die. Today, as I am in serious ache mode, it is a quiet day on the lounger and in front of the television, and as it is a Sunday I am not allowed to do anything anyway... yay for Sunday !! A day of respite for my poor guardian angel.

#HedgeCuttingDay

The trouble with weather forecasting is that it’s right too often for us to ignore it and wrong too often for us to rely on it.
Good Morning to Saturday...21st, 5.55, 12.3dg, 0.3 overnight rain, forecasting bright sunny day... all day. Yeah right, they said that yesterday and instead we had an inversion kind of day with spitty bits. As a consequence of the inaccurate weather yesterday I was not on my ladder.. at all. The morning started with a complete mad scramble after a phone call at 8.00am with my littles' mother wondering if she could come at 8.30 instead of 100.00. Ekkkk, just out of the shower. Pat on the back for opening the door with everything thing sorted and in place... that would have to be a record of massive proportions. Good part of that was I was free early, for the rest of the day to do the hedge !!! Not. Took a massive trailer load of rubbish up to the recycler and then home to lunch. Spent the whole afternoon doing badly needed house chores... cleaning, sorting tweaking as you must occasionally.  Even though the hedges will make me wet because of overnight rain, today is a day for the hedge cutter, I want to finish as I have a massive hedge at another house to complete. Time is running out, so choices are not really a luxury that are mine to make. Happy Saturday.

#F1GPBackInAustria

If you can stay calm while all around you is chaos, then you probably haven’t completely understood the situation.
Good Morning to Friday...20th, 5.27, 12.3dg, 6.6ml overnight rain, forecasting clear blue skies with late evening rain. Yesterday was a day of getting things done. Even though it was a religious observance day and the preference being no work that creates noise these was someone in the immediate neighbourhood using either a water blaster or an air compressor.. humphff I thought, as I church moused away on my toparies with little hand held shears. It was the sort of day that I like, when you can come inside at 5.30 to pour well deserved glass of something scrummy and say out loud, well that was a good day of getting things done. Am I ticking off the rats and mice or what !!! This morning I have a re-jigged littles tuition as the schools are having a Fenster tag to make a long weekend of the public holiday yesterday, as you seemingly do. After that I am free to swing off the end of the hedge cutter.. it is the tops today, my absolute fav. Watched the football last night England v Uruguay. I imagine there are some very sad and grumpy faces today, is all lost ? Probably. This weekend the F1 GP returns to Austria...Former A1 Ring, now Red Bull Ring last hosted Formula One racing in 2003.
Austria was a consistent feature on the F1 calendar in the 1970s and 1980s at the famous Osterreichring but after the original circuit held its last grand prix in 1987, it wasn't until a decade later that the country returned to the sport at the new-look A1 Ring.
The Spielberg circuit staged seven races thereafter before falling off the calendar again from 2004 for financial reasons but has since been bought and rebranded by Red Bull, who completed redevelopment work on the venue and have held other racing categories there including DTM and World Series by Renault.
Red Bull owner Dietrich Mateschitz had attempted to bring F1 back to Austria this season following the postponement of New Jersey but Ecclestone ultimately opted to keep the calendar at 19 events.
If it is still on the calendar next year then I am going for the full noise track side experience. Brilliant.

#SharingandCaring

If it’s true that we are here to help others, then what exactly are the others here for?
Good Morning to Thursday...19th, 5.42, 11.7dg, forecasting a sunny start with afternoon showers, seems to be the pattern. Today Austria is on holiday...again....Fronleichnam oder Corpus Christi. So in my best attention to rules and requirements of living in Catholic area I will only use my hand held shears to finish the toparies...,would love to kick start the big hedge cutter but fear my life would not be worth living if I did so. It will wait until tomorrow and Saturday. Yesterday was a lovely weather day and I had great success in town, and what's more H&M is on sale... Result. I do have to say that it was very very tempting down in the littles section... I had my hand on so many pieces for the Poppet, but put them back as my good fairy kicked in and also the worry of overweight luggage !!! Never say never though. My Wednesday girls came for 16.00 and after our hour of discussion, mostly on death, dying and health issues... we went down to Josefsplatz for a lovely glass of wine or so... My wonderful Wednesday girls have offered to come on Tuesday and help me unbundle and stack the wood piles in preparation for cutting, splittng and stacking. I can rest easier once the wood is sorted. Home for tomato and buffalo mozarella salad and messages from my crazy insane friend up the hill... She has a problem and it is magnified and multiplied by the fact that she was not raised in New Zealand. My Father taught me a lot, and what he didn't teach me my Husband taught me, consequently there is not a lot I cannot do. Sooo... my job this afternoon is to go and help her assemble her new Bar-B-Que.. bless her. I have said after lunch, because I know if I go before then it will turn into a drink fest and I want to finish my toparies.. I don't see being DIC'd of hand shears trying to shape toparies a good idea. This is a thinking girl, blessed to be surrounded by so many wonderful, caring, helpful people .

#NormalServiceResumed

Good Morning to Wednesday...18th, 5.36, 11.0 dg, forecasting sunny start showery end. Yesterday was a full gas day, and boy do I mean that literally... Physio at 8.00, only for 30 mins, then she has the nerve to look surprised when I say I am not happy with my knee as it is uncomfortable a lot of the time... Would I recommend her.. no. Home from physio, shoe change and into the hedges. Did I cut hedges yesterday !! .. all sides finished now just to do the tops, that is a bigger job than the sides as it is all with ladders, but my next door neighbour has kindly offered to hold the ladder for me... Fab. I discussed with him the possibility of cutting out all the hedges and replacing them with fence.. I am tempted, very tempted. Not this year as the cost will be prohibitive but maybe next. Toparies started, ran out of battery power on my little hand shears, but all the buxus kugels finished and jobs just ticked and ticked. Today I suffer... the weight of the big stihl hedge cutter over my head for a great part of the day has resulted in muscles that have never cried before, crying... I am so out of shape, but still smiling. Garage just re-jigged a tad, and back area behind the garage prepared for the start of releasing the wood bundles so I can first stack them against the hedge and then start the cut split and stack. A lot of unnecessary double handling, but as I was not here when they were delivered, so it is! Today I am making a flying trip into Bludenz for some return and exchange, and then back out to may be finish the toparies, weather permitting. I have no English today  until my Wednesday girls come in at 16.00.... in all honesty I am loving the reduced littles and seniors tuition sessions, I have time !!! Last night I enjoyed two gins... my taste buds have returned from vacation and installed in good working order... a week and a half and I know my liver has loved every moment of it. Normal service has been resumed.

#Politics

Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it, misdiagnosing it and then misapplying the wrong remedies.
Good Morning to Monday...16th, 5.41, 11.0dg, the day is setting up to be something it was supposed to be yesterday, and wasn't... get it ? Yesterday was grey and uninspiring with no lounge lizard time at all... a Sunday where you can do nothing for fear of upsetting others, and now today, Monday, a day of work, it is going to be a stunner. God, what on earth are you thinking with your plans ??? Yesterday I spent a considerable amount of time with my sewing machine doing some nip and tuck stuff, and minimising the pile of alterations on the hanging rack downstairs. I suppose that the grey and uninspiring day was not a waste really !! I decided, because I had some lovely fresh green asparagus, to make a Paulii fav for lunch, so set out to cook a Jamie Oliver recipe, tried and tested and always so successful. All I can say is that it was a grey and uninspiring day yesterday... either I am losing my skill to cook and create or my taste buds have shifted elsewhere. I made an out loud comment to myself not to make that again !! I spent the afternoon doing research and reading on Collodial Silver.. upshot is, I have sent an order to my poor suffering daughter, as she has been struck down with a debilitating case of hives from out of the blue, and I then ordered some for myself to boost my immune system, soon I will be a picture of health and vitality. Incoming for a second winter this year when I arrive in NZ in July, so best get myself sorted. So, today, Monday cruisey really... conversation group at 10 and then a littles tuition at 15.30.. the in between will be getting my doses of Vitamin D sorted. As for the politics... isn't that the truth. We are surrounded by idiots made idiot choices, and taking no responsibility for anything at the end of the day. The phrase " Mea culpa" springs to mind. Happy Monday.

#PractisingDiscetion

Discretion is being able to raise your eyebrow instead of your voice.
Good Morning to Tuesday...17th, 6.02, 11.5dg, a little sun, a little cloud and perhaps a little early evening sprinkling, out the window it is quite grey and cool. Some would say a perfect day for cutting hedges... I know it has to be done, but Mr Motivation is busy elsewhere at the moment. This morning I have an early physio call, and I was told that I must appear in work out pants and runners !!! Oh yay!! I have this little rebellious thing sitting on my shoulder nudging me to do otherwise, but my sensible side will win out. Yesterday was dispatched in a happy way.. I have shifted my Monday morning conversation girls to Tuesday evening at 18.00, we will test it to see how it goes. I have been asked recently to start an evening group which is something I have always said no to, but I will test an existing group and then decide if I want to open up more evenings. I will set the hedge cutter running this morning after my return from physio...and that means ladder work.  The month of June is bleeding away so quickly and there are many things to finish, just over four weeks and I am on the move... wow...wow. Time is a little more mine now as school is winding down and the weekly routine gets back to normal. I will get more done... that has to be good. I had to reply to an email from a health care provider for my Mother in NZ this morning... My Mother would have been very proud of my incredible use of discretion today, thankfully you cannot raise your voice in an email, but you can, in the words of my late Husband, pen a very crisp letter, which leaves the recipient in no doubt as to the level of your voice. Job done

#LazySunday

Some people are like Slinkies ... not really good for anything, but you can't help smiling when you see one tumble down the stairs.
Good Morning to Sunday...15th, 6.41, 14.7dg forecasting a hottie in the 30's today but looking out the bedroom window the mountains tops have an early blanket over them so we will see...I am hoping for a lounge lizard sort of day weather, was going to have it yesterday but really spent the day in a prone position watching rugby.. the game played with an oval ball not a round one !! It was a beautiful day yesterday but I started at 10 with the build up for 2nd test Mighty AB's v England and nearly pressed the off button half way through the first 40, but my brother told me to be patient... did they come back roaring in the 2nd half... a good win to the AB's. Second game following on was Wallabies v France, home game for Oz and only two penalty points on the board so game to Wallabies, then came the Welsh v RSA... RSA hammered the Welsh. All in all a good day. Come on next weekend. The sun shone brightly all day yesterday but prone on the lazy-boy was a better bet. I wake up everyday with something akin to a massive hangover due to this cold.. I wouldn't worry too much if I was imbibing all the while but I'm not, I can't. C'est la Vie!! Today is a Sunday, a do nothing kinda day.. me to a "T" today. My thought for the day and accompanying pic are with my beautiful son in mind... Do no worse than flip her the bird my lovely one.

#FromMyChair

Today I am the rugby girl from hell...this morning my mighty AB's took the game convincingly over England, then the Wallabies won over France.. Only 6 points on the board from 2 penalties but a win none the less.. Now RSA are playing Wales..mono prediction but think Wales may have the greater hunger... I wait.. 7 -3 RSA. A perfect way to spend a Saturday when you feel so seedy.

#QuietSaturday

“Any fool can know. The point is to understand.”
Good Morning to Saturday...14th, 5.54, 15.6dg, 0.3 ml overnight rain forecasting another beautiful sunshine day with late afternoon showers. This weather pattern is lovely, you forget how wonderful summer can be when you enjoy winter so much. Yesterday was a day of people in, people out, and me wishing there was no one, just me in a prone position somewhere, anywhere. This cold has knocked my socks off... those who know me will understand the effect it has had when I say my morning coffees give me no pleasure and my aperitivos taste awful. I have tried one weak gin with a friend, the first since last Sunday... I imagine my liver must be doing handsprings but I feel so miz it couldn't give a toss if it left me for good. Saying that I do have progress. I found out yesterday afternoon that the party I have been asked to, and expected to attend, this evening is a party with 100 people in attendance.. an early Sonnwendfeier, which is the celebration of Solstice. This is normally a big celebration held around the mountains with fire spectaculars on the longest night which is the 21st, but these friends are having a massive celebration to mark a lot of family milestones ... I do not think so. Feeling grotty, not drinking alcohol at the mo to help oil the wheels of language, and surrounded by 80+ strangers, not this kid. No way!!! My plans for the day are a little sun lounger time and then if the energy is in any form of abundance a little hedge trimming to finish the small hedge behind the garage. Looking at the calendar it is the 14th June, I start to move on the 20th July... me thinks there will be a lot I do not finish before I leave this time. And so it is.

#HotWork

Better to be the one who smiled than the one who didn’t smile back.
Good Morning to Friday...13th, 6.23, 15.1dg, 17.7ml rain 11 mls came in a furiously fast early evening thunderstorm.. it absolutely hosed down. Forecasting another sunny day with incoming late afternoon thundery bits, traditional high heat mountain weather patterns. Yesterday was an energy sapper, the high temps coupled with the start of bloody hedge cutting. I am thinking I am getting too old for this... and my good hedge cutters eye was on vacation judging by the waves in the hedge. You may think I achieved masses, when in fact I only did the outside of the road hedge by the garage, the inside and the top only to where the land has been temporarily being used by my neighbour.. completion of this small and easiest of hedges will hopefully be Saturday. The big hedges make me want to jump into bed and pull the covers over my head. I did do a very good job late afternoon in as much as lifting the four Thujias that I have in tubs in the front of house, root prune and add fresh soil, then re-clipped them back into their spiral shape. Result. Today is a work day, conversation and tuitions. As the weather is so lovely we will do it all outside in the shade of the terrasse. I have an invitation to a big party tomorrow evening... I should go, I know that, but my head cold combined with my absolute displeasure at having to go out at night makes me want to decline. I have been told by the host that they have a lot of people coming that want to see me with regard to English... great, but as I am due to go away for several months I am not inclined to want anyone new.. for anything. Churlish, I know. Just my state of mind due to my state of health. Have done a little more select and send from blackmarket.co.nz... I love that page, so my pic is very relevant today.... happy Friday 13th, with a full moon.

#NormalServiceToResumeSoon

No matter how good or bad your life is, wake up each morning and be thankful you still have one.
Good Morning to Thursday...12th, 6.43, 15.7dg, forecasting sun, sun, sun and then a little thundery stuff just to cool us down. Perfect. Yesterday was a lovely day for lounge lizards... but first I had to sign off my girl heading direction Ethiopia, and my other with her English Matura exam today. Quick trip in to have a shorty cut, and then lounge lizard time until Wednesday conversation girls arrived. Early to bed, but today I think the human aspect of me is beating the sick aspect... thank goodness. As it is Thursday and a me day, I am going to start the hedge cutting processes, no wind makes it very easy and much cleaner to tidy up on the roadsides. I am not excited about the work load in all honesty, but the Gemeinde will send me a letter if I do not attend to my road hedges. Just started the pre-order of wines for delivery around my stops in New Zealand. Love www.blackmarket.co.nz it is a brilliant service, if you haven't heard of it go in and check it out.
