Friday 20th, 5.12, -2.0dg, forecasting the last of the fine weather today for a while, with incoming snow of 74cm through until Wednesday night... we shall see. For the mountain a heavy fall of snow, heaviest during Sat night. Freeze-thaw conditions (max 3°C on Fri morning, min -7°C on Sat night). It is always such a changing feast here in the mountains with the weather forecasting. Yesterday was just a lovely sunglasses weather day. I did a double tour on the feld in brilliant warm sunshine even though the temp was -6dg, and at those temperatures the tracks are holding well enough, but it is a little later in the morning when the sun does its damage, and then when the snow plough goes over late afternoon the ground is now being exposed. Shame, I can see my lang lauf days numbered here at village level. My afternoon was one of those laugh or cry sort of moments. Damned if you do damned if you don't. The chap who came to do the survey for Crown Relocations was a little short of a gomer, and what I thought to be relatively unprofessional in his approach to what needed to be done. This will be an interesting quote. I have spent the week prevaricating over many things ... again... I will let this week finish and will start Monday with a slightly better approach to what needs to be done, my tick list has been in backward mode for a bit. I am mindful of the calendar. Today is Friday, end of week oh yay. My Friday conversation girls and then tuition with littles and seniors begins today. Change over tomorrow with outgoing family of five swapping with incoming group of four. Will I wander up into the village tonight... I just might, as I am in the mood after yesterday.

#QuietTime
Thursday 19th, 5.00, -5.8dg, forecasting continued fine weather. For the mountain mostly dry. Freeze-thaw conditions (max 3°C on Thu morning, min -7°C on Fri night). Yesterday was a day spent cleaning up after excesses of Fasching and then into rest mode. No energy to go out onto the feld, just sitting quietly and gathering wool until my Wednesday girls arrived at 16.00. Another lovely hour spent together, and then we had a little celebration with bubbles, home made Schwäbische Seelen, and herring salat. My contribution was bruschetta with slow roasted cherry tomatoes and feta grilled in the oven. Hmmm, Mmmm. A lovely simple evening with me in bed by 22.30. Not bad. But I do now need to take a little break and step back from the social aspect of my life in order to put a few modifications back in place. Lent... no, just a tickle up. Today is a day off all, apart from an appointment with Crown relocations to do a quotation survey.... only because you need to be able to make price comparisons. Simple really. I will take a tour on my skis this morning and then concentrate on some work in the office. I have the papers for the section I am looking at buying, but action on this requires action and decisions from a lawyer here, so it is just another waiting game, around and around. The end of the month is approaching very quickly. Happy Thursday.

#FaschingIstFertig #Aschermittwoch
Traditionally the sign of the cross is painted on the forehead in ash, and the words to accompany this are...Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return. Genesis 3:19
Wednesday 18th, 5.13, -0.4dg, forecasting a bright shiny finish to the week with incoming snow on Saturday. On the mountain mostly dry. Freeze-thaw conditions (max 3°C on Thu morning, min -4°C on Tue night). Yesterday has been and gone... we have had a fab Fasching and were blessed with perfect weather. The children all came away with indecent quantities of sweets thrown into the crowds as the parade went through... for the adults it was syringes of super sticky, sweet stuff, schnapps and liquour shot into your mouth... Hmmmm... yummy, not, but you do what you have to do for the moment. We bar hopped for a while and ended up in the Alpenrose.. this girl was pleased to finally get home. Late night shower, four shampoos and my hair is looking as it should. My hairdresser was in the Kreuz Kellar last night and his eyeballs were popping out of his head as he was inspecting my "do". This is one relieved cookie this morning. smile emoticon Even though today marks the start of 46 days of fasting, 40 if Sundays not included, my Wednesday girls are coming this afternoon and we are having a little carpet picnic after we have had our hour of conversation, so there is not going to be any fasting in any respect in this house!!! I could be tired, in fact I am tired. Tomorrow I have another removal coming in to quote o the move but I am not holding my breath for a cheaper quote. It will be bite the bullet time after that.

#Faschingsdienstag
Tuesday 17th, Faschingsdienstag, Shrove Tuesday, 5.20, -0.5dg. It is warm outside so we obviously have cloud cover. Forecasting a mixed bag but dry day today. For the mountain mostly dry. Freeze-thaw conditions (max 3°C on Thu morning, min -4°C on Mon night). Yesterday was a day spent celebrating the Birthday of her who is best nameless... What a hoot. I decided that there is no point in buying a gift for someone who has everything so I broke all my rules and purchased a Leberkäse Semmel. This is something I have a real problem with as, I believe that you should only eat meat in its original form so you know what you are eating... she believes that this is the nectar from heaven.. Gross. I bought one put a candle in it and presented it to her on her arrival from the feld.. Hilarious. She was thrilled one for the idea but more importantly she understood the gift's meaning as she knows my abhorrence of these things. Bubbles on the terrasse in the sun and a plan created for today. Luncheon and something for six here at 12.30 then we will prepare to walk up to the village for the Faschingsumzug. Yesterday I decided to go with blue accents... Hair, eyes and nails. I now know that the blue streaks I have put all over my hair are going to be a little more permanent that I first thought as I tried washing one out last night ... Oh dear silly billy. Time will sort it out. So the plan for the day organised, luncheon prepared, time frames, apart from the early part of it all, are anyone's guess... Happy celebrations, my last Fasching. Krapfen, streamers, confetti, music, schnapps, wine, beer, wonderful parade, and much much more...

#NewWeek
Monday 16th, 5.17, -5.9dg out my window and we have a forecast for clear and fine through until next Saturday... wow. Forecasting for the mountain mostly dry. Freeze-thaw conditions (max 2°C on Mon morning, min -6°C on Sun night). Yesterday dawned a stunner, so I was out on my lang lauf skis early. As punishment for a lost Saturday I decided to go around the feld using arm movement only.. double poling all the way had me breathing like I was running up hill... a good idea I thought to myself, tomorrow will tell the story, but this morning my shoulders are fine so the punishment was not as drastic as I first thought. Perfect. Was it an AFD yesterday? ... not on your Nellie...no chance of that when you are surrounded by others and your lack of will power is massive. Oh well, it was Sunday. New week. The early afternoon was spent watching Ladies second run Slalom from Vail that I had recorded, and then down into the wine cellar to start the sort and biff process, not of the wine and associated, but the left hand side where I keep all those maybe I need them things and dry goods store. I think this is called progress. The late afternoon I wandered down to the Montafoner Schanzenzentrum in Tschagguns as the littles from the combined ski clubs were having the second of their third jump series of the season. Even jumping off the smallest jump I would think takes courage and the youngest was 6... impressive work. heart emoticon It was so crisp, clear and VB cold down there, standing on snow for over an hour. Karen had bought a bottle of prosecco with her so we were very civilised drinking from crystal glass as we watched her two boys nail the jump. I bailed at 18.15 frozen to the bone. Today is the start of a new week... a 10 am appointment with the Frauenarzt in St Anton i Montafon this morning.. just love these annuals, but a girl has to be sensible. The fifth member of my in house family arrives today from Rome, now we will see my little house bulge at the seams as they are all here until Saturday, this is a long stay as my normal visitors come for 5 days or less, and this family are here for 8 days. All good and I do not even know they are here. This week sees the start of Fasching in ernest here in Schruns. Tomorrow is the big Faschingsumzug ... Tuesday could be a busy day.

#CrazyLazySaturday
Sunday 15th, 5.20, -3.1dg with a clear night sky of stars outside. Forecasting for the mountain a dusting of new snow. Freeze-thaw conditions (max 3°C on Tue morning, min -6°C on Sat night) Yesterday was a beautiful weather day again... one that I had mapped out carefully to get my " to do" things done. I had the best laid plans and we know what they say about having those... it could have been so easy, really, but it all started to look like going pear shape by 9.00am as I walked out of the drive with a massive trolley of recycling and I bumped into a girl who lives further down the road. Stop, chat, and she asks me what I am doing. Explain, and then I stupidly say as it is Valentines day I am going to pop into Josef's Platz after I have done the recycler and have a glass of prosecco before I do my handful of groceries...Ohhh what a fab idea she said, what time? Ohh half an hour I say... Wrong move Moochie, bad, silly, crazy on all counts. I got home at 11.45 after a super morning but in no state to go out onto the lang lauf trail, no lunch prepared, so a long wait for food, and in the mood to carry on. A nana nap was required after I had finally eaten and that was then technically the end of the day... incoming text from a girl friend " Drinks tonight "? Silly not to really. 19.30 was the meet time and we would walk up to the village. I then found that someone had dropped off a lovely basket of flowers by my dining room door while I had been on my bed... I was spoilt yesterday. Last night we sat happily in the "Bodega Anchel", in Dorfstraße, a small tapas bar specialising in all things Spanish. but Austria is so backward with their smoking policy... we left smelling like ashtrays and all my clothes are out on the balcony. It spoils going out for me when there is nowhere with a no smoking policy, in the Bodega they say no pipes and cigars... go figure. So all in all, for a day that was going to be filled with good physical exertion in the sunshine, saw my only exertion in the movement of my elbow and my vocal chords all of which was indoors !!! C'est la Vie. Today will be an AFD, and I will be outside. Yesterday Shiffrin did a fabulous job of the Slalom, today is the last race from the WC in Vail, Men's Slalom.. I have a podium picked but time will tell. Happy quiet Sunday.

#Valentine'sDay
Saturday 14th February... Happy Valentine's Day to those that acknowledge or celebrate it, 5.23, -2.6dg out the window. The early morning sky looks a little mixed, daylight will tell. Forecasting for the mountain a dusting of new snow. Freeze-thaw conditions (max 3°C on Mon afternoon, min -5°C on Fri night). We have been blessed with a stunning weather week but as the forecast changes so frequently it is hard to say if we will get snow over the weekend now. Yesterday was another one out of the box... when I was on the Feld after lunch my Instaweather said it was +2 dg, my weather station at the house said +8.6dg, I am inclined to believe the weather station, as in a sleeveless vest I was way too hot on the tracks. I cheated a little yesterday as I shifted from skate to classic and back again as I went around to give myself a little breather... and I thought I was relatively fit. My incoming family from Holland arrived in wonderful time around 16.30 so my evening was free from having to wait .... choices, it was Friday night and when a girl gets a little glint in her eye it is not a good sign. I walked into town, did a couple of minor things and then sat with a few for a few... was home in timely fashion to watch the first run Men's GS from Vail, so it just goes to prove my off button does still work sometimes. Today is a day to walk to the recycler, attend to a handful of things here, chill down a bottle of crisp bubbles, a tour of the Feld and then home to cook a super lunch. Yesterday I was given a super Valentines posy by my Friday girls... tradition here I was told, I said that it is normally something that is done in secret, anonymously, by a secret admirer... however it is done, and for what ever reason, it was a wonderful surprise. Today I celebrate Valentine's Day with myself... it would be silly not to... and any excuse is a good excuse. heart emoticon

#Gompiga Donnschtig
Friday 13th, 5.32, -3.9dg, a little warmer outside the window this morning. The forecast for the next five days has changed overnight and they now say incoming snow on and off through until Tuesday. All good. Forecasting for the mountain a dusting of new snow. Freeze-thaw conditions (max 3°C on Fri morning, min -5°C on Fri night). Yesterday was the start of the celebration that is Fasching here in Schruns. "Gompiga Donnschtig" it was the turn of the children ,,, there were so many cutie boots dressed up to celebrate. The parade was amazing and the weather was glorious sunshine.. the parents and teachers go to so much effort. Well done . Next Tuesday it is the turn of the adults... that is a parade and social event not to be missed. Being a good girl I only indulged in a quick Gruner Veltliner with a girl that knobbled me as I was leaving, and then went home to finish prep for incoming family of five. It would be too easy to stay up in the Marktplatz and socialise, fab music full gas and a lot of milling people, but discretion and all that. Today is a simple day with only my Friday girls at 10.00, and a session in the cellar. I did actually smile this morning on reading an email from Van Lines, my prospective shipper... he suggested I need to downsize by 13% overall in order to fit into 40' but people seemingly do not read emails properly , either that, or my English is sadly lacking. I had asked about consignment or what he calls groupage.. well that is an entirely different set of rules for what I call the "overflow". Patience. This is my word for 2015. I hope to get out onto the Feld for a quickie early afternoon, back onto my skate skis, but I have strange muscle thingys going on.. as I knew I would because it is a totally different action to classic skis. WC from Vail has the men racing GS. This will be a fab race. Yesterday Anna Fenninger was a superstar.. absolute and without question. Happy happy Friday.

#GloriousWeather
Thursday 12th, 5.25, -5.6dg, I can see a moon, so another stunner when dawn arrives. Forecasting for the mountains, mostly dry. Freeze-thaw conditions (max 4°C on Thu morning, min -5°C on Fri night). They have downgraded the heavy snow fall Saturday to a light snow fall over the weekend, any snow is good snow. Yesterday was a day spent in meltdown for me so I decided to remove myself from the house and blow the cobwebs away. As it is school holidays I do not go up onto the mountain to ski, so out onto the feld for a tour in the brilliant sunshine on my classic skis... today I am going out on my skate skis... tomorrow I may not negotiate the stairs so well !! Today is my last day of pleasing myself as I have incoming guests from Holland, arriving Friday night so I imagine it will be another seriously late after midnight arrival. Next week school goes back and Schruns celebrates all that is Fasching.. Tuesday being the big parade when the residents and visitors all congregate in the Church Square to watch, eat, drink and be very merry. I will proceed with caution. So onto the feld in glorious weather for me today, and for the Poppet... well she will get to actually ride buzzy bee as Mama will remember to put some coins in her pocket for the walk home from day care... Bless

#Speechless
Wednesday 11th, 5.08, -4.9dg, forecasting continued fine and sunny weather, for the mountain mostly dry. Freeze-thaw conditions (max 5°C on Wed morning, min -4°C on Thu night). My snow finder is forecasting a massive overnight dump on Saturday so we shall see if it changes, moderates or doesn't happen at all. Yesterday was a beautiful day, spent quietly sitting for the morning with a friend in catch up mode and then off to Bludenz to get thoroughly frustrated because I could not find or get what I was looking for. Two removal quotes in over night, one for the household removal to New Zealand and one for what I consider to be a small removal of English specific things not required on my voyage, that really need to be sent to England for auction. So this is me being rendered almost speechless. Do I close my eyes and press the accept button and say what the hell, or do I do as someone suggested and burn the lot. Damned if I do, damned if I don't. To add insult to injury I have a 7.30 physio appointment this morning. Life just keeps on keeping on in unprintable ways at times.

#SimplePleasures #TimeOut
Tuesday 10th, 5.13, -9.3dg.. now it is getting cold out... forecasting good weather through until Saturday then incoming snow. On the mountain mostly dry. Freeze-thaw conditions (max 5°C on Wed morning, min -5°C on Mon night). A comment from my position.. if it is -9.3dg here in my garden then it sure as hell is not only -5dg at altitude. Yesterday started with an early session in the torture chamber.. I have suggested to my physio she renames her room appropriately as I have no pain until I am on her table. Back into the house before 8am. Snow clearing sorted, partially to get out in the first instance, and then to finish off on return. There must have been good wind with the overnight snow on Sunday night as it was backed up into my doorway. Endless possibilities open to me at that hour but discretion and all that stuff, so I sprinkled the stairwell carpets with the last of my clever carpet cleaner from NZ and set to having a small spring clean in the middle of winter. Halo bright and shiny. A day of house things that have been staring me down for a while now. I should have done a feld tour but chose the work inside instead. Today is another day for me... loving this... I have a friend making an early morning coffee and catchup call and then I am off into Bludenz for specifics. This afternoon is the time for my lang lauf skis.. hopefully the forecaster has got it right and the sun is in full dazzle mode, guaranteed there will be not stopping under the Zamang Bahn for sure. For sure. A head full of bubbles makes for a tenuous position on lang lauf skis and that in turn makes for a very steady trip home. With age comes experience in so many things.. this is what they tell me.

#SimpleSunday #StellarSkiByHirscher
Monday 9th, 5.26, -4.8dg, forecasting a snowy on off day today and then long range shows sunshine... this could be a week on skis for me but it is school holidays...Rats. Forecasting on the mountain a dusting of new snow. Freeze-thaw conditions (max 4°C on Tue afternoon, min -11°C on Sun night). The snow ploughs have made the second pass on the road outside the house so I am picking there is a little work waiting for me at daylight. Yesterday dawned with big fat fluffies falling out of the sky and that carried on all day in varying degrees on intensity. I made two clearing sessions just to stay on top of it, even though it was not so heavy. My Dutch couple departed 10.30 and then it was upstairs to do the turnaround. The flat was immaculate which is always a treat. The incoming from Holland are a family of four until they mailed and asked if the other son could join them... 5 in my upstairs ? I said it would be a mattress on the floor, they jumped at the chance...it makes me wonder if my charges in high season are too low. My little house will fairly groan under the strain for eight nights. Heavens, there must be snow outside, that is the fourth pass on the road in 30 mins, Yesterday was spent between the Dachboden, the laundry and then on my trusty ringside chair to watch the recorded Mens DH from Vail and then live DH and SL combined. Watched the first leg live and recorded the slalom as it was on too late for this bird. Should not have scanned FB this morning, as I have seen the results. No matter, it must have been a stellar run from Hirscher to win the gold after his first run placing of 30th in the field... looking forward to watching the recorded race. Today I have a 7.30 physio call and then it is a day free from all responsibility, if there is such a thing. In fact with schools on holiday this week, I am free all week. I have cancelled Tuesday conversation and will just have my Wednesday and Fridays girls in so it is very definitely Moochie time this week, and it will be a very well behaved Moochie that I can guarantee. Happy Monday.

#Unwell #SeriouslyUnwell
Saturday 7th, 6.18, -4.6dg, forecasting a bright shiny new button day, and for the mountain a light covering of new snow, mostly falling on Sun night. Temperatures will be below freezing (max 0°C on Sat morning, min -12°C on Sun night) Today is going to be the bluebird day of the week.
Yesterday was a normal sort of Friday for me, people in people out. The silly billy who had made an appointment to come through the house this morning at 9.00 rocked up at the door yesterday at 9.00. Ummm Duh...We talked after he apologised for making the mistake and then I gave him a whistle stop tour. He is doing it in his capacity as a Tischlerei for friends who are away at the moment. He was impressed, asked if I had interested parties, I said yes but for me it is a simple process of who ever puts a contract on the table first. On a trip up to the village I was stopped by a local who has taken my number and will ring for an appointment to go through the house. Possibilities around every corner. Last night after I closed the door on the last tuition, a phone call decided I would join those that are the current Australian Invasion in Schruns, for an evening of entertainment. Wrong, bad, silly on all levels. There seems to be no moderation left in me these days. Incoming to a tiny little gem of a restaurant by the railway tracks, Restaurant Stuevetta run by a retired husband and wife team, Lothar and Irene, who do it for the love of creating magic rather than out of necessity. In all reality, he chooses who to have in his restaurant and there is certainly no fear of a quick turn around process. You are met on arrival at the door by a large tree branch blocking your way and a stop sign... really. What a fantastic little restaurant that specialises in American Black Angus beef.. 300gr, 500gr, 800gr, 1000gr. I kid you not. As per usual the schnapps came to table, before, during and after. Thanks to all for a genuinely fantastic evening.. my thought for the day comes from the dictionary...

Just a note to finish... if photographs appear on FB that bear any resemblance to me doing inappropriate things in a restaurant they are so not me.

#SummeryPoppet
Thursday 5th, 5.40, -5.4dg, forecasting a cloudy day but dry, and for the mountain mostly dry. Temperatures will be below freezing (max 0°C on Sat morning, min -8°C on Wed night). Wind will be generally light. Yesterday was a day to wear sunglasses when I was out but cold, I do not think we went into positive territory at all. A lot of walking for me yesterday morning with a round trip out to the Lidl and then into town to meet with a friend I had not seen since Christmas time. Three glasses of Prosecco and a lovely catchup saw us put the world into clearer perspective, although the situation in and around the Arab states since ISIS brutally murdered the Jordanian pilot is enough to give anyone of us cause for great concern. This will escalate...that is a given... how far reaching it will be is the question. What a shameful, disgraceful world it is in parts, in the belief of what? I had to pull an all nighter last night as I waited for incoming guests from Holland. Their ETA was extended as they had trouble with traffic in the early part of their trip so it was rising 1.00am when they rang the door bell... that hour does not give me a lot of bed time. Soldier on my Mother would say. Today is an early morning physio call... another session in the torture chamber, but as I have not done any snow shovelling since the last visit I am hoping my back is in better order. After my physio it will be lang lauf skis on for a tour of the feld, then I can spend the afternoon at my leisure. Yeah right !!! Summery Poppet joy...

#ColdAirDay
Wednesday 4th, 5.20, -8.4dg... now we are talking. I went to bed on a clear night and now I think there is some high broken overcast but at this hour hard to tell when you can only judge by the moon. Forecasting an on off day, wechselhaft, sun, cloud and perhaps light fluffies in there somewhere also. For the mountain a dusting of new snow. Temperatures will be below freezing (max -5°C on Wed morning, min -9°C on Tue night) Yesterday was a day of thin high overcast, which I was told last night, kept temps on the snow at -15dg. Walking home from the torture chamber that was physio at 9.15 in the morning without my hat, actually gave me a first ever ear ache the air around me was so cold. The skiing would have been fantastic yesterday I could only look out the window at it, and not even an opportunity to put the lang lauf skis on.... I could only watch out the window at people whizzing past on the tracks. Shame. My day was hopping and jumping from appointment to appointment, all of which were either positive or pure luxury.. that would be the 90 min facial... :) An interesting hour and a half spent with the man from Interdean Removals... we did laugh a little when we got into the wine cellar... I walked away as he did a bottle count. Today is going to be a long long day. I have incoming guests from Holland and their ETA is between 23.00 - 24.00. No comment. Worse is that I will have to abstain from a cheeky vino as I wait or I might fall asleep. Joy oh joy. Today I have choices, but as the outside temps are what you would call positively arctic, and are going to remain so, I am thinking a little lang lauf to clear the cobwebs as the air chill will not be as severe at village level. Happy Wednesday.

#ShitDoesHappen #NotADog
Tuesday 3rd, 5.11, -6.4dg, clear moonlit sky so the skiing will be brilliant today. Forecasting a dusting of new snow. Temperatures will be below freezing (max -5°C on Tue afternoon, min -12°C on Mon night). It is a day filled with appointments for me today so my skis will stay on the downstairs rack. Yesterday was a day spent in a very black mood. In the mornings when I first get up to make my coffee I always have a quick look outside to assess the snow fall. I noticed that there were footprints in the snow from the footpath up into my driveway and around the side of the house. Later as I was shifting the mountains of snow that had fallen overnight I found the reason for the trespass... some piece of human filth had actually come into my property and left a monstrous turd on the path by my little wooden hüslii... I did not see it as it was covered with more snow but very quickly it was all over the snow plough, impossible to clean up with the shovel and is now smeared across the flight path to my hüslii..... what kind of an animal of the two legged variety does that, especially when there is masses of reserve so close by. Shit happens, but on my property??? Jesus wept. I am really struggling with a lot of things at the moment and then this. I spent a good part of the day after finding that parcel, cracking walnuts to try and calm myself. Today I have an early physio call at 8.30 then a chap from Salzburg coming to do a removal assessment, to finish my day I have my incoming Tuesday girls for conversation. Tomorrow I will try to get up on the mountain for some fresh air.

#ExtremeAvalancheTime #Patience
Monday 2nd, 5.31, -2.5dg, snowing out my window and the snow ploughs are already clearing the road on their second pass. Forecasting snow all day for the village, and on the mountain a heavy fall of snow, heaviest during Sun night. Temperatures will be well below freezing (max -6°C on Tue morning, min -12°C on Mon night). Wind will be generally light. The whole week is going to be an on off snow week and the avalanche dangers are now so extreme here in many parts of Austria... last week they were going off all over the place, with entrapments and deaths, mainly when people are off ski touring and not on prepared piste. The radio news is just full of it. Yesterday the snow only came in after lunch, very lightly and intermittently rather than the full gas day they had forecast but it picked up and was coming down heavily by evening. My Sunday was a slow day cleaning the Dachboden for new incoming on Wednesday, and that means laundry work also... thank you Mr Miele for my rolling iron. smile emoticon Good time spent in the office clearing files to dump, and sorting paperwork for the house sale. Some ducks are moving slowly into place. Today will be a day on the end of a shovel, and if there is too much then I will get the snow plough out. I have no plan for the day, and am not sure about a proposed happening for today... Patience. My lawyer in NZ is busy and hasn't looked at my paperwork from two weeks ago... Choice!! ...Patience. My lawyer in Austria has not come back to me ...WIP... Patience. I understand that Rome was not built in a day, but I am beginning to dislike the word " patience " intensely.

#HangoverOrVirus
Sunday 1st Feb, 5.10, -4.1dg, They are forecasting snow but so far it is a clear morning. For the mountain a moderate fall of snow, heaviest on Sun afternoon. Temperatures will be below freezing (max -5°C on Tue morning, min -13°C on Mon night). There is an Australian invasion in town so last night was an evening all together at Ristorante Pizzeria IL BEL PAESE, and as always a fantastic evening.. super company, good food and way way too much wine. I seem to have lost my off button these days !!! My German guests were blessed with a beautiful blue sky day on the mountain yesterday, not so sure what the weather will throw at them today. They depart this morning and I then have three days before the next incoming guests arrive. My day was spent in the cellar going through the big storage bags and removing all of Paulii's ski gear and associated things... one of those out of sight out of mind things that when I unzipped the covers I thought Ohhhh more decisions. I have a lot of ski clothing and equipment that is not needed so I will photograph it all and bang it onto the website for sale. The oil room is looking much better for my day down there. The spare bedroom now looks like a spare bedroom again as I have shifted all the boxes into the office. Michael is coming for a weeks skiing when school breaks for holidays on 15th, and as the house is full with guests for that week, I felt it unfair that he had to sleep surrounded by mountains of boxes. Sunday, slow mind and body, so it will be a slow day. Just the Dachboden to strip and remake and then a do nothing else sort of day. If I could close the curtains I would !!! Some call it a touch of the hangover, I prefer to call it a virus.
