" Oh I do like to be beside the seaside, I do like to be beside the sea..."
Good Morning to wednesday...30th, 5.34, +9.7dg, 7.0 ml rain overnight and forecasting a wild wet day.. Thunder, lightening, wind and rain...not a good look for someone who moves at the speed of a disabled snail and needs to meet a student in the village for a two hour out of the house tuition. I always say that first it has to happen and weather forecasting is not the most reliable science!! Yesterday was another cool spring day but dry so that is always a help. Physio at 8.00 went well until she told me I have to wear sport shoes... SPORTS SHOES, I hope you can hear me shouting with horror. I just looked at her and smiled... nest she will tell me I have to wear gym pants... Not on my watch pussy. Then she told me I must get on my bed at least once a day.. does this woman think I have nothing to do ??? Then she said.. no bike, stationary or fixed and if I go on my running band then only for 2-3 mins at a time at the slowest speed. See... this is my patient side coming out.  Bit the bullet, took the plunge and made an appointment to have my hair cut. I have been blowing hot and cold for months now about will I won't I, and I always think when you are undecided it is best to leave well alone. Job done, by a professional, rather than hair all over the bathroom floor as does happen here sometimes. Had an email from my buddy who is travelling through NZ at the moment.. a very unflattering description of the trip so far, mainly down to the person who is chaperoning them I hope... Her impression of the food is " just horrible muffins of all sizes and colours with butter, pies and tea!!! And seemingly lunch is unheard of... grotty motels with no mini bar !!! This comes from a girl who enjoys an aperitivo before a salad.. Oh dear, oh dear, and New Zealand has so much to offer in all respects. Today I have a full day of tuition.. how am I supposed to take at least one, preferably two, minimum 1/2 breaks on the bed ? The end of the day is for my Wednesday girls and then Austria is on holiday tomorrow.. it is Staatsfeiertag.. and school here is taking Friday as well for a long weekend. Schruns is very quiet at the moment, with a lot in Pause in preparation for the opening of the summer season. It is rather nice.

Listen to the butterflies in your tummy...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
whom she can trust,
whom she can't,
and why she shouldn't
take it personally...
Good Morning to Tuesday...29th, 5.06, +8.1dg, 1.4ml rain and forecasting another mixd bag without the rain, but the mountain tops are not visible, yet. Yesterday was a cold day, cold enough that I lit the fire at 15.00, and the heating is still switched on, although that is governed by an outside thermometer. Need to develop a greater turn of speed to keep a little warmer. My Monday conversation girls were on good form yesterday, anther fun filled hour that was and hour and 3/4 by the time of departure. Quick turn around, bite of lunch and my adult student in the door. She, the naughty girl, has been away in Germany all week and done no English at all and now her departure date has been set for June. Methinks she has some serious work to do. Today is the start of physio, an 8 am call, so that will be an early bird out the door to get there in time. Every day I am moving a little better but by the end of the day after being on it all day the knee is like some squishy fat ball... super attractive under the special white support hose. While it is not good warm summer temps then trousers are good to go, but after being in trousers all winter I always wear skirts and dresses through the summer, so am hanging out for a leg worthy of being out in public, in the fresh air and sunlight. Just waiting.. As for my dilemma in the weekend, I think that has resolved itself by virtue of no incoming email to take the process further.. Without casting aspersions I am 99.9% sure it was not as it was presented to be. In this case one to me as the Victor not the victim thankfully. My sensible thinking head may finally be coming back to me.

#victor

Every test in our life makes us bitter or better, every problem comes to break us or make us. The choice is ours whether we become victim or victor.
Good Morning to Monday... 28th, 5.30, +8.1dg, 4.0ml rain forecasting a little sun, a little cloud and a little rain. The weather week is a mixed bag all week but with rain most days. Yesterday was a massive test of my resolve, my faith in humans, and my gut feeling, experience taught me a very expensive and devastating lesson latlast year, and yesterday was a situation that left me wondering.. is this going to end up in the same way? Faith in some and none in others, talking it out loud with calming ears and listening to the butterflies made me stop the process. The ball is in the other court now and if this is a genuine process then my email in box is the next step. I wait, patiently and hope that I am proved wrong thereby my faith in humanity will be somewhat restored. The afternoon saw the laundry cleared and sorted and I started the process of altering a pile of trousers. I just love the differing way manufacturers put garments together... and the more expensive articles are not necessarily the best put together ones, but always the most frustrating ones to unpick. I blame my Mother for teaching me how to sew, she unleashed a monster of massive proportions all those years ago. Most people would bundle the clothes up and donate to a good cause.. not me... I have to sit for hours unpicking and resewing the bloody things. I mean it's not like I don't have many trousers to wear already !!! So Monday stands at the door.. conversation group at 10, then my adult, I need to learn English so I can go to Ethiopia, then a little at 15.00. No prep done yesterday head not connected to brain, so no point. Yesterday I had the lovely surprise of a phone call from a special friend I had not spoken to for a while  right on gin time, what a breath of fresh air that was. I refuse to be a victim... so that must mean I am the victor. Prove me right.

#superlazy

I’m not lazy, I’m just highly motivated not to do anything.
Good Morning to Sunday...27th, 5.58, +9.5dg, 13.3ml rain overnight and persisting down. Last night as I went to bed the percussion orchestra was going bonkers around the mountain tops... I had an sms Warnung ROT from Uniqa of incoming wild weather, strong weather from the SW, thunder, lightening, hail and storm.. it was a brilliant sound as the storm went through. Now we just just have good ground soaking rain. Yesterday was a super sunny day, bar-b-qued for lunch and then took the scooter off across the feld to make a start with this gardening job. I had only been there for 30 mins when he bought a glass of wine spritzer out for me .... :0 thought I may like a little drink he said !! As gardeners do. It was a slow and steady job, paying careful attention to foot placement, but a job started and looking much better for it. Home by 17.00 with a very chubbly knee but decided that I could no longer look at the pocket handkerchief looking like a hay paddock. Incoming pre frontal spits but got the lawn, such as it is now, finished. All in all several ticks for the day. Today it is Sunday.. raining out so will not go back to do more gardening. I figure that even though it is a Sunday gardening is a quiet enough job when you are using secateurs and a weed hook. Instead a lazy start, then a little office work followed probably by a laundry session. That has a certain groan factor attached to it but there is a bit of a pile down there, and also a pile of trousers to " adjust "... Fun

#flaws #beauty

Beauty — in projection and perceiving — is 99.9% attitude.
Good Morning to Saturday...26th, 5.43, +12.6dg, 4.4ml rain overnight. Low mountain top mists and wet roads, but forecasting for dry and cloudy.. that works for me ... a quick trip to the Lidl, then the recycler on the boys scooter then I am going to try to start and finish the gardening job that I accepted some time ago, but was unable to do because of the knee. Yesterday was a typically busy tuition day, revolving door syndrome. Terrific fun with ping pong balls to explain up, down, in and out. Little minds are such fun things to work with. In discussion with my 16yr old about her joining me on a flying trip into England... I do not think I have ever seen such big eyes at the suggestion. I hope her Mama is not cross with me about the suggestion !! My " private wine merchant " delivered the last of my bubbly order and carried it down to the cellar for me yesterday so am now ready for" balloon up" time in July. This, of course, is just the practise run for July 2015.  Some very positive emails in my inbox yesterday about some search and find, but will involve a trip to Geneva... life could be worse I suppose. So for today, fingers crossed I can get this gardening job ticked off, it has been playing on my conscience. Hate to say I will do something and then not follow through. Practising my high stepping... a little like an equestrian horse in the show ring... fab visuals!! to encourage my knee to bend, but am still favouring the knee when walking and not doing the proper bend and roll movement. My head seems to have other ideas about how the knee wants to work. Physio starts Tuesday.

#justwandering

Don't take life too seriously, you won't get out alive, anyway.
Good Morning to Friday...15th, 6.07, +10.7dg, 1.1ml rain.. I have a feeling the rain guage is playing silly buggers with me as it is bone dry outside, forecasting late evening showers today, and rain through the night. Yesterday was a lovely day to wander, as wandering is the best description of movement at the moment. Train to Bludenz and then a bus over to Zimba Park, with trusty trolley. So many rats and mice chores sorted.. It is always nice to clear a list that has been building for a while. Lunch over in the Lunarseepark, a nice restaurant with large picture windows that were open to the lovely Spring day. Thank goodness. There is always something quite disgusting about having to sit in a restaurant trying to enjoy a long leisurely lunch and a good glass of Austrian wine.. yip.. I said Austrian wine, and you are surrounded by filthy faggers. Sitting in the bus on the trip back to the railway station all I could smell on my clothes was the filth of cigarettes. Rant over, their choice, thankfully, and their lungs. The clean places to dine are becoming so limited... there is always McDonalds.. Ekkkk !!!. but that doesn't really do it for me. Never ever had a burger from them. I was home by 14.00 and then spent the next 4 hours on the computer trying to sort some things for sale on ebay.. heavens what a hair tearing nightmare that was. First on .com which is America, that was like a lead balloon because they kept telling me, although I am registered with them, that they did not recognise the postal requirements.. What ???? seemingly I can purchase worldwide but when you try to sell worldwide the requirements are so technical. Gave up and went into .at and it became so complicated I deleted everything at 18.30 and went downstairs to have a glass of wine. Upshot is that the things I want and need to sell are still unlisted. I will take them to England and do my best there. Bless my Paulii and his need to have things !!! Today is a busy tuition day. Conversation girls at 10.00 then I have to collect a little from the railway station at 12.50, followed by a senior at 15.00. Then I can close the doors for the week. The weekend weather is not looking so promising and I want to try and mow my pocket handkerchief. Could be fun on several levels.

#lestweforget #anzacday

" Lest We Forget "
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
Anzac Day marks the anniversary of the first campaign that led to major casualties for Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War. The acronym ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps, whose soldiers were known as Anzacs. Anzac Day remains one of the most important national occasions of both Australia and New Zealand, a rare instance of two sovereign countries not only sharing the same remembrance day, but making reference to both countries in its name. When war broke out in 1914, Australia and New Zealand had been dominions of the British Empire for thirteen and seven years respectively.
On 30 April 1915, when the first news of the landing reached New Zealand, a half-day holiday was declared and impromptu services were held.
In South Australia, Eight Hour Day, 13 October 1915 was renamed "Anzac Day" and a carnival was organised to raise money for the Wounded Soldiers Fund.
The date 25 April was officially named Anzac Day in 1916; in that year it was marked by a wide variety of ceremonies and services in Australia and New Zealand, including a commemorative march through London involving Australian and New Zealand troops. In New Zealand it was gazetted as a half-day holiday. Australian Great War battalion and brigade war diaries show that on this first anniversary, units including those on the front line, made efforts to solemnise the memory of those who were killed this day twelve months previously. A common format found in the war diaries by Australian and New Zealand soldiers for the day commenced with a dawn requiem mass, followed mid-morning with a commemorative service, and after lunch organised sports activities with the proceeds of any gambling going to Battalion funds. This occurred in Egypt as well.
In London, over 2,000 Australian and New Zealand troops marched through the streets of the city. A London newspaper headline dubbed them "The Knights of Gallipoli". Marches were held all over Australia in 1916; wounded soldiers from Gallipoli attended the Sydney march in convoys of cars, accompanied by nurses. Over 2,000 people attended the service in Rotorua. For the remaining years of the war, Anzac Day was used as an occasion for patriotic rallies and recruiting campaigns, and marches of serving members of the AIF were held in most cities. From 1916 onwards, in both Australia and New Zealand, Anzac memorials were held on or about 25 April, mainly organised by returned servicemen and school children in cooperation with local authorities.

#everycloud

Nobody grows old merely by living a number of years. We grow old by deserting our ideals. Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul.
Good Morning to Wednesday...23rd, 6.24, +6.0dg, forecasting clear and sunny with afternoon showers.. I am over this forecasting malarkey,, they said that yesterday also, and there were no showers, just a sunny day. Yesterday was a day filled with I am going to do's, and on the whole achieved a good deal of them if in a different way to normal... the key to survival at the mo is the thing called adapting. I now have a badge for that. I have promised Klaudia I will not to get up on the ladder.. yet... She heads off to the Southern Hemisphere with the special one today, for a search and find around New Zealand, so it is really a case of what the eye doesn't see the heart cannot grieve. All in good caution of course. Physio sorted, Insurers will not pay for wellness only medical therapy rehab... meanies... Three levels of the house vacuumed!!!! Sort of. My massive amount of rubbish was uplifted and taken to the recycler, Yay !! Today as it is Wednesday, I have two littles coming in for tuition then the Wednesday girls, so the day will definitely end on a positive note. Panel for the Poppet's 2nd Birthday dress coming along nicely, there is some good that comes from enforced chair time and that is I can get on with the smocking. Every cloud....

#fromaplacelikenoother #newzealand

If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence that you tried.
Good Morning to Tuesday... 22nd, 5.35, +8.4dg, 0.7ml rain forecasting a clear fine day with incoming evening showers. Yesterday was a day that started well... did a load of the best wool clothing in the world, New Zealand merino wool, because I thought it would dry...wrong, the weather did not play ball at all. I did manage to get my marinated lamb leg onto the bar-b-que and cooked before the weather came in. Just love the slogan used on the packing... small satisfied smile on this face on all levels. The afternoon was another mixed bag weather wise, but I did get some of the outdoor tubs sorted, down side to that is a knee the size of a football by evening. I got confirmation yesterday that the Golfclub will suspend my 2014 membership and roll the fee over for 2015.. Nice  That is € 1000 I do not have to find next February. Today, as it is Tuesday and the world is open for business again, I am going up to the Physio to organise the start of treatment. Then off to the insurer to plead my case for the cost of water gymnastik classes, this I will do by foot as I need the scooter to take me to the Lidl and then up to the recycler, both which are too far for me to walk. When that is all sorted I have to sit down and do tuition prep as children start back through the door tomorrow. The house is a sauerei so I promised myself to do something about that today also. The devil makes work for idle hands....

Slow and steady.. Easter Monday

In some cultures what I do would be considered normal.
Good Morning to Easter Monday... 21st, 6.29, +9.3dg, forecasting a showery week ahead. I put the rain guage out in the garden a couple of days ago... I tested it first to make sure it is registering on the weather station inside, good to go. Last night it rained and no reading. I love technology. Yesterday was a lovely sunny day... brisk air temp but if you were in the shelter like a pussy cat on a bench seat it was lovely.. perfect for a bottle or so of Moet with my buddy. I opted out of lunch up the hill and took the bus home at a very respectable hour of 13.30. I am so missing the ability to ride my bike. Have decided to put my golf membership into pause mode, I may have been a little overly optimistic about my recovery so if I pause it for the 2014 year then pressure is off and I can still use the driving range when I am knee ready. Today I am going to try to do my terrasse tubs.. there is an emphasis on the try, but I am sick of looking at them still in last summer's ratty offering. My jobs around the house are starting to stack up but I am determined I am not going to pay someone to come in and do these things for me. The one that is really worrying me is the Dach papier for the lean to.. it has completely broken down and will take a little more than my pathetic one legged ability to remove the old and replace with new... on a ladder !! All I can say is Grrrr. Today I am gong to marinate and slow cook on the bar-b -que a beautiful piece of New Zealand lamb.. boned legs were being sold in the Spar Supermarkt for €20.00 not bad!! I may just push the boat out and open a cheeky wee New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc for Aperitivo. In conversation yesterday I learned that a good friend of a good friend is going to NZ next week to look at the possibility of purchasing a dairy farm, Nth or Sth, to go with the forestry portfolio holding in Gisborne. I know NZ likes foreign investment.. I don't know that I entirely agree. Just my opinion.

Easter Sunday

Personality is to a man what perfume is to a flower.
Good Morning to Easter Sunday...20th, 5.36, +3.5dg, forecasting fine and clear although the snow alert has sent me an email for rain early this afternoon, it will be one of those wait and see days. My post yesterday failed to post, and the thought of re-writing it did not please me so ... Friday night we had little flurry bits that started at 19.00 and by the time I went upstairs it was fat fluffies being tossed around in the wind and starting to settle. Saturday morning dawned clear with a little snow lying on the felds and rooves, but beautiful white hillsides and sparkly mountains. Cold, very cold. Worked out a system to get firewood up to the house as knew I would need a fire last night. When you can only hobble simple jobs take forever, and you need a little inventiveness to do certain things. Two trips into the village by foot proved to be a little over optimistic, one to get a small handful of things and the second up to the Freidhof to light a candle. Just not a lot of gas in the tank at the mo. Today a girl has been presented with options. Take note Iris,..fortunately it has been suggested that I am collected by car rather than being left to my own devices on the scooter.. Not sure I actually feel like a Moet session and then lunch on the Sonnenterrasse on the Hoch Joch. It means walking on snow to get there and back..just not sure. Booked myself in for water gymnastics starting early May.. am going to present it to my insurer to see if the Unfallversicherung will pick up the cost as it will be brill for my knee. On the subject of my knee, I had the most unfortunate experience on Friday morning with one of the most unpleasant, impatient, unsympathetic young Doctors I have ever had the misfortune to come into contact with... Was it me feeling fragile or him experiencing an I don't give a S*** day. Whatever it was, I came away from his surgery after he had removed my stitches and firmly resolved never to cross paths with him again. Heavens, he was highly recommended, by my surgeon and friends. What a complete tosser. Better the devil you know quite frankly, even though some consider him to be old and fusty. Works for me. Today I will be trackside in China... anyone's game when the weather misbehaves. I want to try and start replacing the soil in my tubs ... now that could be interesting !!

#froheostern #karfreitag

I used to think I was indecisive, but now I'm not too sure.
Frohe Ostern.
Good Morning to Friday.. Karfreitag... 18th, 6.20, +3.1dg, forecasting for today a cloudy start and a rainy afternoon, with incoming snow tonight and tomorrow. Spring. Being a good Catholic region today is a normal day in the retail calendar, so all is possible today... that hopefully includes the Doctor that I have been trying to co-ordinate with all week so I can have my stitches removed. He is not there when I am free, and he is there when I am busy. It is an interesting concept here ... the Doctors do not seem to have five day surgeries.. half day here, no day there, morning tomorrow, and evening the next.. so I have now photographed his door with the sign of hours available so I know when to go. Yesterday was a simple day, headed out the door, on the trusty scooter at 7.45 for my appointment. She did not disappoint, no Beckenboden training.. prayers answered, but instead Lymph drainage.. perfect. Until. Thought I could pop into Bludenz to get some lamb from the Turk...Ticket bought and sitting waiting for the train, and was offered a lift into Bludenz by a retired Bahnhof employee that Paulii had befriended. Perfect, ticket refunded, and off we set. made the most of the offer, New Dach Pap bought so I can replace the crumbling cover on the schleppdach on the side of the house. too big for me and my trolley.. sorted, nails and all, the interesting part will be the application.. not yet as I do not think I can safely do ladder work at the mo. Then the effects of the Lymph drainage kicked in.. headache, knee that refused to co-operate and this girl is in need of her bed, and I am in the supermarket. Joy. direction home.. and into bed for the afternoon. True meaning of a Nana Nap !!! As I lie in bed this morning the children are out on the street with the Ratchets that are used in the place of the church bells that are silent over the Easter period as they have flown to Rome. They do circuits of the village until the bells return again. The world has so many different traditions, and different ways of celebrating this important date in the calendar. Today as it is business as usual, I an certain I have my Friday girls, just can't remember what we said last Friday.. oh dear, fading memory, but the priority is a quick trip to see if the Doctor is indeed opening his surgery today. Other than that a kick back sort of day doing not a lot. It has been suggested that I visit her up the hill for a celebration of Easter.. I asked if she thought I could get the scooter up the incline as it is grass... she said if I positioned my self correctly at the bottom and gave it full gas then it would not be a problem. You have to love her optimistic view of the skill of the scooter or indeed the skill of the operator !! I said the up might be OK but what about the ride down at the end of the celebration ?????

Thursday before Easter....

The years teach much which the days never knew.
Good Morning to Thursday...17th, 5.34, +1.9dg, forecasting a clear sunny day today with incoming rain for Karfreitag, and then we go into a wet week. The gardens and felds will jump for joy if we do get a wet week. Note to self to put the rain funnel back into the garden today. Yesterday was a normal sort of Wednesday, 2 hours with she who is preparing to go to Ethiopia, a short pause on my trusty bed after late lunch and then off to the Lidl on Paulii's grey mobility scooter... it was a pleasure not to have to do the hard miles by foot, or indeed carry, or trolley the things back to the house. Home just in time to put together a large nibbling platter and get the glasses out before the Wednesday girls came through the door. They were panicing outside the front door yesterday as normally it is unlocked and they just let themselves in, but yesterday it was of course locked as I had been out, so they were coming around the back calling out for me !! Sweet  It is good to know that there are people that have my back and are looking out for me. I locked the door again after their departure at 19.30, and as per usual it was a hilarious evening. I have been trying them out on the meanings of English sayings... fantastic!! Today I am scootering up to the Physio for an hour of Beckenboden work out, secretly hoping she will take one look at me, feel the necessary compassion and send me home. I then intend to deposit the scooter on the railway platform and take a train to Bludenz so I can get a leg of New Zealand lamb from the Turkish grocer there... well I was told yesterday, buy a completely off the wall cow, to eat all the meat I want on Karfreitag, so I thought a nice piece of NZ lamb will hit the spot as I have not had meat in quite a while. Marinated and chargrilled .. the first spring bar-b-que. Bring it on.Highly doubtful that I will have it tomorrow but she doesn't need to know that.
Good Friday is the Christianity of the first day of the so-called "Triduum Sacrum", the three-day celebration of Easter. Easter is in the Christian churches, the highlight of the church year. On Good Friday is commemorated by Christians of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. The name of the holiday is derived from the Old High German word "kara" which means as much as "sadness" or "action". The date of the day can be between 20 March and 23 April of each year.
The customs and celebrations of Good Friday vary according to Christian denominations and also by region.
So true in faith of Catholic Christianity Good Friday as a day of strict fasting takes place; to the consumption of meat is waived on this day. It is also common in many Catholic churches that organ and church bells do not sound on Good Friday; according to a popular tradition to fly the church bells during this time to Rome to meet there to take their consecration. In various Catholic tracts of land instead, it is common with so-called ratchet to call (a wooden instrument effect) to church on Good Friday. Also goes in many Catholic churches for two days the Eternal Light . Services begin in Catholic churches often at 15.00 clock, as this time is preserved in a time of death of Jesus Christ. The liturgical coluor red is symbolic of the shed blood of Jesus Christ.
In Austria, Switzerland, Germany and France, there are many places the traditions of Karfreitagseis; the Karfreitagsei is an egg that was laid on Maundy Thursday or Good Friday. Such an egg is to have magical powers and, for example, can protect the property of the owner; Good Friday eggs, which are deposited on fields should contribute to Customs after a rich harvest. Animals that are fed with such an egg, should be protected against illness. The Karfreitagsei is referred to in many parts of Vorarlberg as Antlassei; Antlasseier, shall be considered a lucky charm.

#moodelevatorday

You are as young as your faith, as old as your doubt; as young as your self-confidence, as old as your fear, as young as your hope, as old as your despair.
Good Morning to Wednesday...16th, 6.02, +2.8dg, forecasting a clear sunny day. The outside temperature is about as cold as we have seen for a long long time... Spring weather, and with that we have had quite good blustery bits of wind that have completely trashed my beautiful clean terrasses. No smiley face on this as using a broom is not really a possibility at the mo. Yesterday was a fine but very chilly day, I walked to the Uniqa office with a firm resolve not to take the extra health insurance... cunning dog... get a girl when she is vulnerable. Did I sign on the dotted line, for my sins, yes. The account had arrived on his desk for the operation.... €6800.00 and there is plenty left over from the annual allowance for the re-hab, so hopefully that will be organised on Thursday. Then hobbled off to the hairdresser for the 6 weekly job. Home by 14.30. If I sat down and added up the time spent over a life time on one's appearance it would be a scary calculation indeed. Vanity, thy name is Woman. The late afternoon was spent in a prone position as there does not seem to be a lot of gas in the tank at the moment, and simple tasks like walking are astonishingly tiring. Made a decision to get one of Paulii's scooters out to help me out with the things that are a bit difficult at the mo. If the Polizei don't like it then so be it. Today I have a 2hr tuition with my adult student, and then the Wednesday girls come in at 16.00.‪#‎moodelevator‬ . Tomorrow, early I have Beckenboden training !! Groan.

#hairdresser

Life is an endless struggle full of frustrations and challenges, but eventually you find a hair stylist you like.
Good Morning to Tuesday...15th, 6.30, +4.7dg, wet out, forecasting clearing day a little overcast but there is supposed to be sunshine. Snow fell last night about half way down the mountain, just a little dusting, enough to upset the spring plantings at this level. Yesterday was a long day, starting with the Monday conversation group and then onto my adult student, then a very slow walk, with many pauses, into town for celery, frischkase and a visit to the Apotheke. I have to say that these walks into town to do simple life tasks are no fun... it brings to mind the tortoise and the hare story, but the tortoise would beat me at the moment. Moments like these a girl stops to reconsider the purchase of a small car. Yesterday afternoon was an enjoyable couple of hours with a friend over a bottle of bubbly and some nibbles I put together.. rules of house you eat when you drink. No-one believes me that I do but I do, eat that is, the liquid is a given !! Today I have a meeting with my insurer Uniqa, first to discuss the claim for the operation in Lech and the ongoing rehab, then we apparently have to discuss my insurance cover as Hannes feels that as I approach 60 it is not sufficient, according to her who shall not be named. You could have knocked me over with a feather, as I am a person who on the whole is healthy but Hannes thinks the wheels will start to fall off as I am turning 60!! I do understand, but what he is proposing is going to cost €200 a month on top of everything else... breathe in breathe out. Highlight of the day is an appointment with my hairdresser, only colour, no cutting. Best to leave the scissors alone when you are undecided, even I have not been tempted to do an adjustment with scissors... yet... most unusual.

#mondaymorning

It's a very funny thought that, if Bears were Bees,
they'd build their nests at the bottom of trees.
And that being so ( if Bees were Bears ), We shouldn't have to climb up all these stairs.
Good Morning to Monday...14th, 6.15, +4.6dg, forecasting a clear day with rain this evening. There was a snow alert email in my in box for tonight, but I do not se it being an issue. The weekend was a little showery on and off... good for the garden. I spent a good part of late Saturday in the garage folding and rolling all the plant covers and ties from the winter tie down. When you have the door up you get a lot of visitors, especially as the word is around the immediate neighbourhood, and it is my first appearance in public. When you are suffering from cabin fever then doing anything, anything different, is a diversion, even if it is at less than the speed of a snail. My immediate neighbour across the road was telling me about her brush with death... a contest between a bus, the kerb and the tarseal as she was riding her bike to work.. needless to say she came of actually worse than second best, and all that 5 weeks after a ski accident that broke ribs and damaged her shoulder!!! It is quite dangerous going outside really. We compared battle scars and discussed the dangers and fragility of life .. she told me that my work here in the village with English has opened doors to acceptance from some very hard nuts to crack... they do not accept strangers lightly into their circle here in the Montafon. Feather quietly moving in the breeze. My other neighbour took my re-cycling up for me, bless him, there was quite a collection as I had not done the normal three times a week for a while. Today is Monday, school is on Easter break until 22nd so that is a good break for me with children. I continue with the adults as it is good for the head and body. Took delivery of two boxes of Gröhl Weingut Pinot Noir Sekt yesterday morning, private...starting the process of sorting the cellar for this years birthday celebration. Here they seem to pack in sixes and not by the dozen as in NZ... what does that say about either place, or indeed my idea of quantity... Less is more or indeed better ?. As that is only twelve bottles I will need another two boxes, and that is just the bubbles. Being organised is just a normal part of my daily life  Feeling a bit miffy that the sun is not here in abundance as it would be nice to be a lounger lizard... I wait for that.

#blackfridayday

To succeed in life, you need three things: a wishbone, a backbone and a funny bone
Good Morning Friday...11th, 6.43, +4.9dg forecasting fine and clear but not very hearty temps... The house is blinking cold... I have turned the heating off too soon and now that I am not moving around quickly I cannot stay warm... This is an amber alert for one very pissed off bunny. And FYI I have no funny bone at all at the moment. Yesterday I went to Lech for the follow up appointment with Dr Rhomberg. He drew two syringes of blood and fluid from my knee, and expected me to stay still while he did it !!! How can such a nice young man inflict so much pain and still smile? Sadist !! Lech was grey, cold and uninspiring. The places I wanted to go to there were shut at 12.30.. well in fairness it is end of season, so I had to entertain myself by people watching until it was time to leave. Whilst Lech is filled with English tourists as well as Europeans at the mo, there was not a single sight worth a double take. Lunched on an outside terrasse until the cold sent me inside, where, bless Austria, I then had to eat my lunch amongst the filth of those that fag. The day is really really going downhill very fast. I found out yesterday that my time frame thinking to get back on my bicycle and on the golf course have been seriously deluded, and I am back to the walk ability of a cross between an unsteady toddler and a ninety year old with a stick. Fantastic. Time to pull down the blinds. Today I have no choice but to get up and do my exercises because in all reality that is what I must do. It should be Black Friday today.

#bubbles #theonlyway

It's Not The Pace Of Life That Concerns Me, It's The Sudden Stop At
The End.
Good Morning Thursday...10th, 6.26, +5.8dg forecasting a clear sunny day which is perfect for me to take my first outside sortie as I am off to Lech on the 10.03. I will first pop into the Clinic and get the all clear and then I may just cruise the shops on the main street of Lech... It would be crazy silly of me to go into Lech at this time of the year and not poke my nose inside some of the shops  After a little please myself time a nice lunch quietly in the sunshine and then back on the train to Schruns with a big big smile on my face. Yesterday I was moving tentatively around the house without crutches until I needed to lie down... I do not think I am up to the stairs yet, but all in all, good. Got a thorough drilling and then a censor over many aspects from my Wednesday Girls, but only because they care. That was a naughty girl slap on the wrist moment.  It was a hilarious conversation session, and they went off happily to the Josef's Platz for the obligatory. It feels quite odd not having all the littles coming into the house at various hours of the week, but rather nice from the lack of energy point of view. Next week normal service will be resumed, but it is the week before Easter and then school goes on holidays  Hopefully by the end of the day I will have better bend and flex with the knee once the fluid has been drained and I will be like a young gazelle... well that may be a bit over the top, but you know what I mean. Bubbles are always the answer.... they fit into anytime of the day well. Happy days.

I then had a series of emails from this mongrel James Harris eventually requesting me to send 1772.00 euros through Western Union to the shipper as nothing could proceed until the shipper had the details and money, at which time PayPal would release the asking price plus the extra costs for shipping.

Seems authentic enough doesn't it???
He then sent me this mail...

Thanks for the business

I had no alarm bells ringing.. stupid, yes, I was so excited at the thought of selling some of Paulii's equipment that I have been storing and really want to get rid of the added bonus being that it would bring me some much needed cash. Instead I have sent the requested shipping amount.
Worse still PayPal Austria are closed for business after 6pm, and Western Union are having an unforseen emergency so I can talk to nobody about this.
