Wednesday 7th, 4.51, +2dg outside my window. My mountain forecast drizzle at first, then turning colder with dusting of snow on Fri afternoon. Freeze-thaw conditions max 3°C on Thu morning, min -2°C on Wed afternoon.Forecasting evening rain here in Newbury today with a wet day tomorrow. Judging by the coughing and sneezing that surrounded me where ever I was yesterday, trains, plane and automobile then it is deffo winter. Seamless rail travel , if a little on off, this train that train, but into Flughafen with plenty of time up my sleeve this time. Whiled away some pleasant hours in the Star Alliance lounge, thank you for that. Smile of the day had to be watching a woman in the lounge loading her carry on with food from the buffet... as some do I suppose, but it did make me smile. I suppose at least now you cannot take away the half bottles of wine that Air New Zealand used to provide in their lounges!! London city was its usual busy busy self, but as I was out and about thankfully it was dry... bonus as it had been showering earlier. Had planned my route to Montpelier Street by bus and underground, but as the plane had been late arriving and then the luggage had been forever coming in, Not sure why they bother with priority luggage systems when the priority luggage comes in last. Calm... just watching the time slip away. I jumped a cab after depositing my suitcase in storage, did my work with Bonhams, and then decided to go underground back to Paddington... What a right fecking tangle I got into down there. Wrong direction totally, but thankfully a lovely young lady got off at the next station and guided me to the correct platform for the correct direction. Bless. I shouted myself a large take away Sauvignon Blanc, NZ of course, but in a plastic cup, from the Paddington Station railway bar and boarded the train for the 90 mins journey out to Newbury. Is wine in a plastic cup a good thing ? ... not sure it tastes as fine as a drinking from a glass, but beggars and choosers was foremost in my mind. I am sure I presented a super picture dashing for the 16.35, with suitcase, briefcase, handbag and plastic cup, juggling everything at the barrier as I grovelled in my bag for the ticket to process my barrier entry. I was in flat boots. 100% commitment. Today it is feet on the floor and running to do all the places I have ear marked, I imagine that it will not be achieved all in one day, but I will give it a shot as I may have to go back into London city and a round trip is several hours travelling. So many balls in the air, and trying not to drop any.
