Good Morning World and a happy New Year... Thurs 2nd Jan 2014, 5.50, +5.7dg. Forecasting for some light rain showers later today... hopefully that translates to snow at altitude. I hope that the roll over of 2013 to 2014 was a fabulous, happy and safe celebration for everyone, we had a beautifully fine clear evening and watched the New Year in to the unbelievable sound that is the firework mayhem that goes off in Schruns at New Year... I could still hear them at 4.30 am. My guests rolled in at 6.30am, we, as good sensible souls, were in bed around one and a bit !! The joys of having guests in the house, paying ones that is... but they were terribly respectful and as quiet as little church mices... not sure all those years ago I would have been overly quiet rolling into home at 6.30am after a New Years. My family left on the train yesterday direction Zurich, England.. sad face... we had a fabbo time from start to finish and they even convinced me to meet them up the mountain to do a few runs with them on New Years Eve day.. Astonishingly I went..Stunning bluebird day, and surprisingly the snow was in good condition.. did my fair share of swearing to myself as I went down the piste out the back as I had on some good skis... silly me, should have put on a pair of rock hoppers as the small and med stones the groomers roll over are diabolical on the bases. Grrr. Some base repair required in the cellar this week. The snow is good and reasonably good cover, but we need more snow. So, Christmas, New Year is over for another year... the cellar has been well and truly worked over, well and truly. I could be considered to be a tad tired, but now I start the business of getting on. My current German guests have asked for an extra two days, exit Friday, I have a party of four German students coming in Friday for the weekend skiing... I hope I do not regret that !!.. Off to my job this week end, and then it is school start next week so back to student tuition and adult conversation groups. Bookings for the house are coming in so all in all quite orderly, in a sort of Moochie orderly way ! Things to do and places to go.... Happy New Year.
