Wearing my furniture removal hat
“It is impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all - in which case, you fail by default.”
Good Morning World... Wed 15th, 5.35, +1.6dg.... I have no problems being woken this morning at 4.45 by the snow ploughs doing the first run on the road outside... yay, it is in the village. Incoming forecast is for fine today and then a little flurry Thursday night. Yesterday it was snowing as day dawned and didn't stop until around 8pm last night... a very happy girl doing a whole lot of bump bump wiggle wiggle clap clap !! I went out mid afternoon to shovel the snow from the paths and driveways as it was too wet for the snow plough. I love it when you could start all over again after you have finished the first clear, this is what winter should be like. Yesterday I made an executive decision after a long discussion and measure process... yes the arm chairs will go up the stairwells to the dachboden. Will I wait for help.. nope, just rolled my sleeves up and became master shifter alone. Holy shit, what was I thinking. Perhaps my brain thinks my power and ability is actually greater than it really is. Either that or I am getting old. I was thinking to myself at one stage as I was being pushed back down the stairwell into the Grandfather clock, ooooohh I hope the door bell doesn't ring as I am well stuck. There was quite a bit of out loud talking going on as to how to finish the job that I had started and was now firmly stuck in the stairwell jammed between the windows and the stair lift rails.. It never occurred to me how strenuous the job would be, after all it is only two flights of stairs but the killer is the curves in the stairs. Job done... two armchairs installed into the Dachboden, the small leather two seater taken from the sitting area into the bedroom for TV time, the leather armchair from the bedroom to the sitting area to make comfy seating for three, and lastly the old leather arm chair, an original from Paulii's early days, and I mean early days, dragged backwards down stairs and thrown out on the terrace!! All achieved with no real damage to anything apart from a little marking on the paint.. that I can fix. Exhausted. and this was all before lunch. I will enlist help to get the old armchair to the re-cycler as I do not think I can fit it in my little trailer. I could hold a seriously large gathering in my sitting room now as it is looking very spacious. Today I have a day of people in, people out, two littles at 14.00 for tuition and then conversation at 16.00. A little homework and prep needed for both lots, so a quiet morning in the office, after I have done my snow clearing. The view from my windows today, when day dawns, should be spectacular.
