Seemingly not rest for the wicked.

Hospitality: making your guests feel like they're at home, even if you wish they were.
Good Morning World... Sun 5th, 6.13, +4.9dg.. It was positively persisting down when I went up to bed last night and the forecast for today is for showers, light snow, moderate snow, showers... Yip another wet n flurry day here in the mountains. I believe that there was soggy snow falling at times in amongst the rain up on the mountain yesterday... my four young men have travelled from Germany for their ski holiday.. that will be an opps then !!! and the weather is worse for them today, but they say they will ski today before travelling home. Last night the boys went off night tobogganing, am not so sure it will have been a success as the weather was so awful. Yesterday for me was one of those days when you are very close to hitting the wall... At one stage it put me in mind of a sight many years ago back in my home town of Christchurch.. the one where six local council workers are sent out to do a job that really technically really only needs one or two men.. all the others stand there leaning on their shovels supervising. Yesterday I found myself leaning on the hose pipe of the vacuum cleaner trying to find the energy to vacuum, and looking at the bed I was standing next to and just thinking "ooooh if only". There was a huge sigh of relief from me at 12.00 when I had finished and could go home. Quick herb omelette for lunch and on the 1.03 into Bludenz to purchase some linen for the Dachboden. When the house is under so much pressure from guests I need some extra bits to make things a little easier. Bought myself salmon steaks for the weekend... Gosh, duh.. helps to pin bone before you cook and put it on top of the salad. Not really one of my more successful meals. Today was going to be a day of rest for me, but with guests checking out at 10.00, it is back upstairs as Mrs Mop. Gott Sei Dank I have no-one in the Dachboden now until the 11th and that is only for the weekend.. yay. Tomorrow is Heilige Drei Könige, or in English, Epiphany.. Public Holiday Austria, and then school goes back on Tuesday. Was it an AFD.. nah, not on your nelly, not after 5.30pm. And not even the shoddy dinner spoilt that one...
