Saturday 6th December, Hl. Nikolaus, 4.48, +3.1dg, forecasting a little snow this morning, Sunday night, Monday night.. every little bit helps when the ground is warm and the mountains are still a little green. Season's opening weekend put back to next weekend, foot traffic only today on the Hoch Joch. Today there are a lot of excited children in the village as today Nikolaus visits them, if their parents made the booking in time !! Tomorrow is the second Advent, so the second candle is lit. The crazy season has well and truly arrived. My diary looks like a racy novel, and I am almost having night sweats trying to juggle it all. The garden is finally finished and all buxus wrapped up like Christmas plum puddings. House dressed, but still contemplating putting lights up outside on the row of thujias along the wall... it means a ladder, and I have developed a fear of ladders.. a much needed and healthy fear some may say!! Off to Dornbirn after my early morning walk today, I need to pick up last minute bits n bobs for the Christmas cooking morning I am doing with eight young children on 20th... no comment needed on that. Every village, town and city have their Christmas markets open, the lights are all up on the buildings, lamp poles and trees, it is quite a magical time. I will miss this.
