Monday 15th, 7.24, dark early morning sky but dry, forecasting for my mountain a light covering of new snow, mostly falling on Wed afternoon. Freeze-thaw conditions, max 5°C on Mon morning, min -5°C on Tue night. Only 9 more sleeps....  Not that he is filling my stocking this Christmas.. shame, but in all reality I suppose I have been filling it for a while now Evens !! Yesterday was one of those super tiring days jostling with others. The skills one learns in a crowded place. My Mother would be proud. Krampus was at the Markt yesterday.Not one, but a whole procession of them, talk about a scary spectacle as it was supposed to be. I do not think I have ever seen so many incredible sheep and cow hides use to such effect in one place... the faces of the children was another story altogether. Nickolas was wandering in the middle of it all in order to keep the peace... of sorts. Another fantastic lunch at the Spatenhouse, thank goodness I had a booking Ohh la la, spanferkel and kraut salat with kummel... no one does a kraut salat with kummel seeds like the Germans.  I had an expensive but successful Weihnachtsmarkt session, and have ticked a lot of the boxes for special people that I want to have a little reminder of a European Christmas market. A nice change from the mass produced ornaments from Asia. So today is my farewell to a special place. I am sad. I hope one day to be able to return but I will not hold my breath. we have been coming here since 2000... It has been brilliant, thank you.
