#TodayIsBakeDay

Thursday 11th, 9.13, +1.8dg, high broken overcast and we were walking in light almost sleet drizzle at 6.30 this morning. Mountain forecast is mostly dry. Freeze-thaw conditions (max 3°C on Sat morning, min -4°C on Thurs afternoon). Wind will be generally light. I do not see snow in our forecast for a bit... Yesterday was a day with plans that went total turtle... note to self, try not to be too organised as it only leads to disarray !! One good thing to come out of yesterday was a fabbo branch of Mistletoe at my front door and a cute little chubbly Christmas tree to replace my Santa who is off on a excursion somewhere else and he has taken my little and very old cast iron sausage dog boot scraper with him... Shit happens so they say, I do not happen to like Shit !! The saga of the tree acquisition has been documented by someone I loosely call a friend... and she was no help as she was on the side of the mountain road wetting her pants as I was trying to untangle myself from the avalanche of snow, tree bits, loppers and lying in a terribly undignified way under the ruddy tree. Then the Gemeinde truck arrived... Oppps. The departure was so speedy we threw the tree into the boot jumped into the car, me covered in snow, and left. Possession and all that !! This is not a technically correct thing to be doing, but I figure that the community owe me a replacement to decorate with. Full stop. The tree is installed and hopefully lit today. I dare anyone to come onto my property and remove anything else. Today is a day in the kitchen, as it was supposed to be yesterday and that was a fail, so today is the day to bake. I hear the opening day yesterday up on the Hoch Joch was very busy but the snow cover is barely there and only the Seebliga working. I will wait until after school returns after the 10th Jan.
