#Winter #Snow

Tuesday 30th, 4.40, -4.5dg snowing. Forecasting on the mountain a moderate fall of snow, heaviest on Mon night. Freeze-thaw conditions max 2°C on Thu afternoon, min -11°C on Mon night. We have had snow almost constantly falling in varying degrees here in the Village since Christmas Day evening, up until now I have kept pace with it by shovelling by hand, today I bring out the heavy artillery. Yesterday I was out doing the paths three times.. enough of that, now the machine can do it. It is too early for the snow ploughs to be on the low roads but I imagine they have been working the higher roads for a while already. The sirens are going off out the window.. some poor soul is in trouble with their house, hopefully nothing more sinister.. Gosh, how I just love winter. I had been asking the snow Gods to bring me a good final winter season, he was playing games to start, but all along he was really listening... he had a plan. Easy day into Bludenz to do some return things and stock up on necessities for guests. Baking in between shovelling, and wood repositioning.. an easy day. Today is more of the same sort of. My little Dutch family leave this morning for their final assault on the mountain before an eight hour drive home. Theory is to tire the children so they sleep the whole way..Plans!! Incoming brother and sister for the New Years festivities, arriving after 15.00 by train, a doddle really. Nothing to much that needs doing other than snow patrol, snow patrol, snow patrol.
Oh the weather outside is frightful,
But the fire is so delightful,
And since we've no place to go,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
