The pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist expects it to change; the realist adjusts the sails.
Good Morning World... Sat 14th, 4.40, -6.1dg. Just not up with the weather yet, but at these temps then it is bound to be another lovely day as it dawns. The fire was going all day from 4.30am and last night the inside temps reached 21dg... getting there slowly, down side is I am having to use a lot of my precious wood...
Yesterday I had plans, but as with so much when you have a touch of jet lag they do not have a priority flag on them. It was a day to shop and stock. There was a large box outside my front door yesterday morning when I unlocked the house... panic... what on earth have I ordered from a kitchen shop in England ?? Transpires that it is an early delivery gift box from the paying guests that are coming on 23rd to spend Christmas in the house. Knock me over with a feather. It does look impressive and very festive under the tree. The afternoon was spent in feets up mode for an hour after I had sone some dusting.. heavens life certainly returns to normal quickly, and especially when the winter sun comes in the windows at a different angle. Let us not forget the snow shovelling that I also had to do... just so love having to shovel snow off the paths and driveway after cars and people have been leaving their marks. Any little forward weight gain is very quickly attended to having to clear the mess. Late afternoon I went into Bludenz to watch the children compete at their Christmas swim meet.. races for all ages of club swimmers then St. Nicolas arrives by boat, inflatable pulled through the pool by all the children.. Brave St Nicolas and his helper. I believe last year they tried to tip him out before the presents were distributed... Hello ??? It was a little like being back in Singapore with the incredible humidity in the pool complex, and was a blessed relief to get outside into the negative evening temperatures. Today as I am back home... ...I will be in another feets up mode, as I can now participate in the FIS Alpine racing ... boys in Val d Isere, GS today, Slalom tomorrow and the girls are in beautiful St Moritz, Super G today and GS tomorrow. If you hear any noises it will just be me participating from the luxury of the armchair. Just love the fact that I can watch these athletes do their thing, another one of the positives about living here. Have to uplift my ski pass at some stage today.. could be a tad messy, but will be on foot not bicycle so breathe in and out again, and then all going well may just have to do a few turns before too long... Happy days
