#2ndJanuary #ThisWeekBackToNormal #IncomingSnow
Tuesday Jan 2nd, 6.31am, 0dg with a high of +2dg, forecasting a variable day, 3 Day Forecast for Hochjoch-Schruns at 1540m altitude
Issued: 12 am Tue 02 Jan local time
Short Forecast for the next 3 days for 1540 m altitude
A heavy fall of snow, heaviest during Wed afternoon. Becoming milder with heavy rain (total 36.0mm) on Thu afternoon. Freeze-thaw conditions (max 4°C on Thu afternoon, min -7°C on Tue afternoon). Wind will be generally light. So we are setting up for more and that is always good. Yesterday was one if those sort of wasted days, as we started the New Year with a nice glass of bubbles. It didn't really go down hill from there it just sort of stalled!! I walked into the village to buy the skis and found they had just shut the doors.. so la la. Into the beautiful church to light a candle and sit for a moment in reflection... Coffee at the Taube outside in the very crisp afternoon sun and then popped into the Alpenrose to check that it was all in order also!! Where ever I go I bump into people that are surprised to see me back and ask where have I been for so long ?? Bless. I suppose when you spend so many years doing everything in and around the village on foot or by bicycle then people get to see you most days, and recognise you. Gosh even the boys at the recyclinghof were thrilled to say hello !!! And no, it did not have anything to do with the fact that in summer I wore heels on my bike !! Today I have a task at 8.15 for the morning and then I will finish the paperwork for the bank, then the purchase of these skis.. I really need to get out and up on the snow, both langlauf and alpine. Bring it on.
