Wednesday 17th Jan, 4.50, +1dg, I can see the lights on top of the Golm so clear to that point and the flags down at the base of the cable car are flapping furiously. Yesteday they were forecasting snow and whilst the day looked as though it was delivering there was no new visable new snow line on the trees around the mountain by night fall. The Silvretta Montafon snow report tells me there was no new snow in the last 24hrs, last snow fell 11th Jan. Now we have avalanche warnings.... so la la. I am finally able to function again although not at full gas. I have been bed ridden since Sunday with the dreaded bug, now that my skin is no longer so hypersensitive I just have to deal with what sounds and behaves like a smokers cough !! I did drag my sorry a*** out of bed for the Monday meeting with the wallahs from the Volksbank. It was a very polite and quite civil meeting but they were left in no doubt as to the appalling handling of the account. We now go into negotiations about certain facts but other issues cannot be changed and so I will consider my options as I have a few. Options are good. The bank may not agree with that, but in the best manners possible, as my Mother always taught us, I wrote a thank you email. Halo shining bright. Today as I have been Mother in charge yesterday I am heading out to Dornbirn to tidy up a few things. Skiing is not a consideration either by virtue of the weather or lung capacity, so a train trip and a little happy therapy is in order.
