Friday 12th Jan, 7.00, Outside the window appears to be a foggy covered mountain, -2dg forecasting a high of +3dg mainly fine with a little cloud. They are warning of avalanche risks now as the weather has been so unseasonably warm. Yesterday afternoon it looked promising with a little sleety rain coming in late in the afternoon but translated to nothing at all down here in the village. Fingers crossed it fell as fat fluffies up above. My day yesterday was spent in a long ladies lunch @HotelLitz which was enjoyable in every way. The waitress remembered me, welcomed me back and said to me it is Gruner Veltliner isn't it... Oh dear after all this time she remembered what I drink, I then expected her to order my fav meal for me also .... astonishing how good some people's memories are. Not quite sure what to think !! The Chef also came out to greet me. Today her and I have a walk date in the fug, early morning as dawn breaks to stretch our legs. I am hoping it does not involve any hills yet. The rest of the day is unplanned as yet, we wait to see how the day dawns. Hair of the dog was a perfect fix for the hilarious, brilliant, memorable excess of Wednesday night. Note to self retire early next time and leave them to it. The morning walk was a seriously long one into the village for lunch as there was definitely no spring in my step.
