#HappySaturday #AnotherLongDay #CatchUp

Sunday 7th Jan, 9.30, +1dg, forecasting cloudy but no precipitation. The sky further down country looks very purple black. Who knows ! Yesterday, according to the girls, the snowpack was covered in death boulders, not the normal death cookies when they groom soft snow before the freeze. The Friday we all went up it was hard and fast because of the four seasons weather but perfectly skiable, but I have been informed by her that she will not ski again until fresh snow comes in. So Loipe tracks it is. Thankfully they are still in operation on the feld, but the lower snow is walking away. Yesterday I completed my Saturday task and after a lovely little pick me up with the Gästehaus owner, I was dropped off at the schwimmbad as I was going to walk back to the house in the beautiful sunshine. I decided to bite the bullet and walk back via Wageneweg where I had lived for so long. I had to do it at some stage as there were people I wanted to visit. First stop my elderly neighbour across the road, ex Polizei Commandant. Bless, he cried when he saw me at the door. He and his wife have aged considerably in my absence, him with strokes at 90. So is life. Next stop, straight past my house and my next neighbour who is now 98 and just waiting it out. Her daughter with whom I have a fabulous friendship is in residence at the mo as they have trouble with Pflegerin / carers at this time of the year. Out on the terrasse in the sun and a little New Years celebration as we chatted. Ummm... not a lot in my tummy at this stage as it was well past lunch. We walked to look at her old Aunt's house they are removing and rebuilding for themselves. Beautiful location, wonderful outlook, as most places in Schruns are as it is a narrow valley. Back on track to Fratteweg up Silvretta Str, and I see another old friend shovelling snow and ice from his drive. Stop to call out hello... Komme... Oh dear. Two glasses of white wine later and a massive catch up I am back on the footpath, it is now 16.30. Am I still walking in a straight line.. not so sure. Heavens. I have been trying to keep a low profile here in the village for this very reason as everyone is so welcoming. I just ❤️ @Schruns
